E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Losing the Gamer spirit?
Posted on Thursday, January 27 2011 @ 21:30:55 Eastern

With all of the games out and about on several different systems and platforms you'd think it would be impossible for any one who has even the slightest inclination to play video games to get bored. The endless boss battles, the clever puzzles (some more so than others), nailing that impossible solo, killing endless hordes of enemies on and off line should be enough to keep gamers entertained. Yet, here I sit, looking at a collection of games, some old, some new, and not a one of them perking my curiosity or interest in the slightest.

I can't help but feel that my experience as a gamer is starting to taper off, I no longer have those desires to sit down for a few solid hours and game. My question that has yet to yield an answer is, Am I losing interest or are the games?

Most games I've played lately are starting to blend together, the story lines, the enemies, the game play, everything really. I've stopped playing them for fun, and more for something to do for an hour or two before I get bored. When will there be something new? When will there be something that I can sit down and enjoy for a couple of hours with out seeing the same linear story and tired cookie cutter enemies? It's as though the developers of games have started to get lazy, or maybe they are as tired of making these games as I am of playing them. All multiplayer games have the same bugs and unbalanced play styles with different names, all single player games have the same conflicts over, and over, and over again. I know this seems like an impossible dream, or game as it were to find and/or achieve, but If there's a game that can perk my interest in even the slightest, I implore you, please tell me about it. I would hate to lose a pass time that has kept me entertained all of these years.
