E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling
Posted on 06/15/13
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Achievement Whore
Posted on Tuesday, June 9 2009 @ 09:17:25 Eastern

I got a 360 Christmas just passed, and I've turned into one.

I buy a game for its gameplay value obviously. But with that in mind, I also have to check to see what the achievements are like. When I first play the game, I dont go 5 minutes without checking the achievements list. How hard are they? How long until I get them all? Are some co-op? I cant stop whoring for achievements.

At first I thought it this was a bad thing. But it really isn't. It's a whole new level to gaming, it makes the replay value for games last at least 2 times longer for me. I completed Resident Evil 5 fairly quickly, without achievements I wouldn't even bother playing it much longer, or trying it on higher difficulties. I always play games on Easy, it's more fun for me that way (and I'm fairly rubbish to be honest :P). But thanks to achievements, completing any game on a high difficulty is now something I'm desperately trying to acquire.

Most of my friends dont really care for them. One friend said they annoy him, because people with higher scores think they're better at games than everyone else. As a hardcore gamer, I love that. Competition. I compare my gamerscore to someone else in a game, and I see their score is higher? It makes me want to play that game and try to get more achievements than the person I compared to. That's not a bad thing, yet again, it's an improvment on gaming. It makes me want to play the game more, and then getting EVEN MORE time out of my game that cost me £40! More worth for my money - I win.

Fallout 3 Disapointment!
Posted on Saturday, January 3 2009 @ 16:59:47 Eastern

Beware of the spoilers by the way!

I received Fallout 3 as one of my awesome Christmas gifts. I wont lie, I've been pretty much playing it whenever I have spare time (which is a lot of time). I get into the game very quickly, the scenario is great, the levelling, the guns, the stats, the interactions, the shooting, the gore, the killing! I'm loving this game!

I'm also a big fan of long games, I'm playing it today and I'm at Level 16 after about 30 hours of gameplay, and I'm thinking that this is going to be an incredibly awesome and long game! Now I assume that like many RPG's, the level you need to be at for completeing a game is around 50 right?!...I'm on this awesome mission where it's basically an epic war and you're following a massive badass robot that's basically destroying everything in its path for you, I complete the mission...and it's the god damned last mission!! And what I thought was going to be the longest, most epic game I have ever played, turned out to be a major let-down...and it's all just pissed me off a bit!

My GR Sprite Comic
Posted on Tuesday, December 23 2008 @ 06:24:28 Eastern

I'm personally thinking of getting it printed and making a book out of it. Not to sell! Just for my own personal gain! I crazily enjoy making them, maybe because it's similar to my dream job of being a manga-ka :D! This may be the closest I get to doing something like that, so I want it to be archived in a better way than a file on my computer. I may wait until I finish it, I have it all planned out and there's an epic amount still left to do...but I may print it out chapter by chapter! Just like volumes of manga!! Anyway, thought I'd share that with you guys haha!

PS - Ty, you should definately print yours out to sell to the GR community! ;)
