A new addition to my collection
Posted on Tuesday, June 30 2009 @ 12:23:42 Eastern

Hey people, I just thought I'd share with you what I've been up to, video game collecting-wise...If thats even the right terminology...

Anyway, I went to a few garage sales over the weekend, and I must say that the garage sales themselves were...Not so much..But, thats not the point, the point is, I did find SOME interesting stuff that I think is worth mentioning.

Well, for starters, i've been wanting a bean bag chair for the longest time imaginable. The garage sale that I went to was okay, wasn't the best nor the worst, just good enough. So, I got the bean bag chair, but the guy who sold it to me was kinda pushy to say the least...WHO CARES? I WAS GONNA BUY THE DAMN THING ANYWAY!

Now, onto the more interesting stuff, the games...

The garage sales that I went to didn't have too much to offer gaming wise. Sure, a Genesis here, and a Gameboy there, but nothing to really stick out, and grab my attention. after a while, I will admit, I was getting slightly agitated at the lack of gaming entertainment. But, I didn't get discouraged, I was hoping something would turn up, and something did.

I haven't played a GameCube since 2005, and that was only because my friend had it, and whenever I went over to his house, he let me play Super Smash Bros. Melee. I remember that we would play that game until like one or two in the morning, because at the time, we used to live right next door to each other. Good Times...

The reason why I bring this up is because, at one of the garage sales, they sold a bundle: The GameCube (Hookups Included), two controllers, a Memory Card, and three games: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Sonic Advance 2, all for 25 bucks!

After a few more garage sales, I found WWE Day of Reckoning 2 for 5 bucks, so I also had to pick that game up as well.

So, I go home, and the first thing I did was pop in the Sonic game but...NO DISK! I was furious, but there wasn't too much I could've done, I dont even remember the house I got it from, but oh well...

So, that leaves me with Super Smash, WWE, and Super Monkey Ball. Well, these games were good, but not good enough for me to play for hours on end. Although, every now and then, the GameCube goes out and you have to reset it, which is a pain to do...

So, this is going on for a long time, playing these three games, until today. I got the itch to play Madden. So, I picked up Madden 2008 today at GameCrazy, however, they were running a deal: buy a game for 20 bucks, get a second for 20 bucks or lower.

Then it hit me, my cousin always hyped Call of Duty, and he never seems to shut up about it, and thats really the only game he plays. I think he has it for PS3, but I could be wrong, but I decided to do a little research before I played it, and found out that there were two CoD games for GameCube: Finest Hour, and Big Red One. However, GameCrazy only had Finest Hour, so I picked it up.

Well, Maddens Madden, and so theres not too much to say, except you'll love it simply because it's Madden, with its easy controller scheme, and real action hits, and everything else.

As for Call of Duty: Finest Hour...WOW! Amazing game, and I advise anyone with a GameCube to get this game. I've played it for about only an hour so far, but it's been amazing! I don't want to put down the controller at times. But, the downside is, with my disc, its a bit scratchy, so it freezes, but other than that, I've enjoyed it alot so far, and I'm extremely pumped!

Look for me to be getting an XBOX sometime in the near future...
