PS2 VS PS3
Posted on Thursday, July 9 2009 @ 05:00:12 Eastern

There has been a lot of talk back and fourth about which system is better, between Sony. The PS2, or the PS3? Well, I'm here to weigh out all options for you...

Now, first things first. This is the kind of trouble you get when you release two systems so close to each other, you get a console war. The amazing thing is, that a lot of people still choose a PS2, instead of its upper scale "opponent".

This is all started when I went to the video game store yesterday, and Many, who knows me by name because I'm in there constantly, told me that they still get a lot of customers asking about PS2, and sometimes it seems that they are asking for it more than the PS3 model. This irked me enough to write this...

Anyway, the first different is pricing, now, obviously, with the PS2 being out ever since 2001, it's price has dropped tremendously, first starting out at, I believe $300, to now, you can find it just short of $100. Evidently enough, if Sony gets the call, they still make them. Anyway, if you want a good, cheap, console, that will last you quite sometime, I do suggest the PS2

However, if you are looking for better graphics, up-to-date games, and the most intense action, I would suggest a PS3. I played the PS3 for the first time in 2007, when my brother first got his. I remember Warhawk. Warhawk was a game that mainly took place online, it was you defeating other soldiers, and it didn't matter if you did it through air or land, as long as you defeated them, if you were the last one standing...You Win. Maybe I'll do a review on that...

Anyway, PS3 also has an internal Memory drive, so you don't have to buy memory cards, unlike the PS2. But, if you wanted to play retro Sony games, you need a Memory Adapter, and the Memory Card, which serves as a problem for me. Shouldn't the Memory Adapter come with it? Its not the consumers fault that Sony put USB Drives where the Memory Cards normally go, they cant help that. Although, Its a terrible, but effect ploy to get people to buy extra Sony gear. I guess its Sony's right...

You know what I think is kinda funny, throughout all of this talk, and the battle of Sony, where still forgetting Sony's "Forgotten" Love Child, the Playstation Portable.

See, thats just too much Sony at the same time, three systems. WWE Smackdown VS RAW 2010 is coming out in November on all three systems. I'm sure it's costing WWE tons of money to be on not only those three, but XBOX 360, Wii, and DS, all at the same time! Sony might just drive parent companies bankrupt with how much consoles they put out. I say to Sony, they shouldn't put a new system out for atleast 5-10 years, we have TOO much gaming.

Wow. I never thought I would've said too much gaming, but apperently, I just did. This all coming from a blogger, who nearly spends from the time he gets up, to the time he leaves for work not only blogging, but talking about gaming as well. What can I say?

Now, in my own personal opinion, I would say the PS2 serves alot better than the PS3, however I can't let my own personal taste interfere in this debate...With that being said, I think the winner should be no other, than the PS3.

I say this because its more modern, (Even though I usually dont' judge on this) the graphics are a lot better, as well. They have a Blu-Ray Option, along with regular DVD's for your viewing pleasure, and plus, Internet options, which can do you tons of good if you don't have a regular PC. Hm, maybe Dell should look into getting a game console....
