Ideas on GR Member Reviews?
Posted on Tuesday, April 29 2008 @ 19:04:02 Eastern

So aside from my request-a-critique post earlier, which I will postpone until later (if you want me to look at your review, just PM me and I'll check it out), I'm wondering if any of you have ideas that will help the GR member review section grow. One such idea that's been thrown around here at GR is putting great member reviews in the Vox Pop or something like that, but I'm sure there has to other ways (contests?) to bring some attention to them.  Or should we just leave the GR member review section the way it is? Any thoughts?

(If you would like constructive feedback on your GR member review, send a PM to me with a link to the review and any comments.)

Long ago they did a contest that was sponsered to have members submit member reviews for a free game. It had to be a game that came out and a game that everyone could play on the same system, so that could be a way to do this, get some bigger reviews out there.

Both the contest and vox pop ideas are good. Perhaps it could be like the current vox pop thing, since the novelty of that has kind of worn off.

Yeah, I agree that the vox pop spiel has died down a bit. It happens with all things that are new. But hmmm... I think a contest could work. Let me talk with Duke about it.

It would be cool if the contest winners were decided by the GR Staff, and not by the number of views the review got or the "Rate This Review" points it got.
