Adbots on the forums
Posted on Monday, September 3 2007 @ 03:59:26 Eastern

I think I speak for all of those who frequent the GR forums when I say I am sick of stupid adbots logging in and making those stupid advertising forum posts.

I've done some snooping, and I think the problem is the $250 Game Card contest.

Now, I'm not saying that the contest is stupid or anything. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I love the GR contests. I'm just saying that these adbots can use the registration section of the contest in order to create a forum presence and annoy us with all those ads.

If they included one of those 'Re-print the code that we've put distorted on the right' boxes, that'd sort the problem.
