In a world dominated by violent media, Americans are no more eager to go to war than they were in the 1980s or the 1960s or the 1940s. Hasn't it always been someone else's problem? The overwhelming majority would rather go on thinking it had nothing to do with them and there...

Guitar Hero: Van Halen Unreleased Feature
Posted on Sunday, November 1 2009 @ 11:39:08 Eastern

Aw screw it, let’s just Jump!   Welcome to Guitar Hero: Van Halen, you’re now going to be rocking out to another legend of rock n roll. Not only are you going to be playing the 25 epic Van Halen’s tracks, you’re going to be playing couple of Eddie’s signature solos such as “Eruption" and "Cathedral.” Other than the list of Van Halen’s songs being able to play, you’re option to play 19 other artists such as Queen, Billy Idol, Judas Priest, and so on. So let’s “Jump” into the excitement shall we. After playing Guitar Hero: Van Halen, you begin to realize what has changed? What has happen to the special features? All of these are a mystery. This mystery makes you so controversial to what make have actually been added to the game series. My god haven’t they add the option to video record so you can upload your own special video to their website? The only new feature I saw was lamer than Andy Dick’s comedy and this feature is “Eddie’s Guitar Soundboard.” This feature allows you to fool around with some of the chords Eddie has played through out the years. Nothing too proud of have been added to the game This is like having a prostitute sleep with you; no matter how much you paid for the pleasure, you’re still shameful you paid for it. I do apologize, but it’s difficult to explain how nothing was featured without using a sense of humor   Now this little feature I created wasn’t just to give the short information upon the game itself, this feature also provides you the source of how upsetting receiving the game in the mail was. Receiving the unreleased bologna couple weeks ago was a path to see how cheap and pathetic Activision is.
First they didn’t give me a decent case. They just stuck the game into cardboard “For promotion only not for resale” piece of crap that can easily be destroyed. So I didn’t lose or have my game destroyed from having it stay in this crap case. I had to create my own cover and use one of my old Xbox game case. Oh it doesn’t stop getting comical there. I was searching for my game manual. I searched package of the shipment. I looked inside that crap case, I yet to find my manual. I then looked to see if would inform me about my manual on the back of the case and sure enough I found the information. Not only do they give you a crap case, you must find a source of the internet to download the manual. Now they’re too cheap to print out a manual for you too? That’s pretty low. Sure the production of the creating of advertisements and art has to be made still, but come on you’re not going to ship me out a manual either?   Instead of playing just the melody of the songs in Guitar Hero 5, they manage to fix that situation so you can play the guitarist parts with your controller. Also whenever you hit the wrong note, you can recover faster. In the previous games (if you played on expert or hard), you recover fast, but when you hit the wrong note, you ended up skipping more notes. That part to me a great improvement for the audience behind you. They don’t have to listen to the “song screwing up” effect (I know you can lower the audio) and get disgusted. I feel this game would be great for the Van Halen fans out there. I wouldn’t recommend buying this game unless they added more. Until then, this is the same exact setup like Guitar Hero: Metallica. Just let Jamie cry and you may come out a survivor. Get ready to rock again December 22nd, 2009

"Guitar Hero 5 Deal: Worth It?"
Posted on Wednesday, September 16 2009 @ 02:08:27 Eastern

So I bought my "Guitar Hero 5" a couple weeks ago (since my other versions have been destroyed by bumping into my Xbox 360) and I already have heard about, “If you buy Guitar Hero 5, you will receive the unreleased Guitar Hero: Van Halen!” I knew there was a catch to it; I thought maybe you would receive a DLC for the entire track list of Guitar Hero: Van Halen. With a surprise, I was wrong. But, instead I received much more objectives to complete before receiving my “unreleased game”

As soon as I came home from buying my 2 for 1 deal, I quickly ran to my lair to see what I need to do. I looked at the package and peeled the sticker I had to peel off, “Go to this website and to redeem the code” Um what code are they talking about? I went to the website and found out there was a code on the back of Guitar Hero 5 Manual. So I filled out the required information. It then mentioned I need these 3 items; The Sticker that I had to peel off of the package, my receipt, and a barcode of the information I just typed in. First off, I had to dig around the trash for the receipt. They could have mentioned before hand, but I guess that maybe common sense I don’t have. This barcode that I had to print out was a pain in the arse. I had no ink whatsoever and so I had to drive back to Staples for a black ink cartridge that made me lose 43 dollars. So after completing all these tasks, I now had to put these in an envelope (who does this now?) and send the information to their company. They then told me, “Once we received the information, it will take 4-6 weeks to process.” Oh my god, I’m finished now I have to waste time while waiting.

When I bought Guitar Hero 5, I wasn’t just buying the game for another game for free. I wanted a game that will allow me to enjoy myself for a while. I just recently played “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and I must say the effects and creativity of the game was definitely well done. It was well enough for me to write a review about it. Nonetheless I needed a game that will satisfy my cravings before “Halo 3: ODST” comes out. When I bought Guitar Hero 5, I thought I was getting a better version since the last one I play (Guitar Hero: World Tour). Instead I get a game that doesn’t even have that much guitar rocking solos. How can you call the game “Guitar Hero” if there aren’t that many guitar songs/parts of songs. Elton John doesn’t play the guitar does he? No, he plays his sound-soothing piano. I completely agree on pod cast 77 when Blake complained the fact “Guitar Hero,” isn’t really “Guitar Hero” anymore. The game I thought would be pleasant turns out they only improved the graphics in the background (you’re not supposed to pay attention to anyways or you lose notes) and the ability to create an avatar or even use your XBL avatar, other than that it’s a terrible version of the Guitar Hero series.

So was it worth buying the 2 for 1 deal? I don’t think so. All the hassle I have done I won’t received my game until early November or late November!? What grinds my gears are the game releases December 22nd and it isn’t that far away when I do receive it. So yes, this deal isn’t worth it because I’m positive their going to end up with a Guitar Hero 5/ Guitar Hero: Van Halen bundle.

I love A&T Whores
Posted on Friday, August 14 2009 @ 11:47:46 Eastern

Commenting on MattAY's achievement whore winning vox pop, I came to with a hypothesis stating "Achievement and Trophy Whores" can actually be a great idea. Yes, yes I know I could have posted this as comment in MattAY's blog but I felt this allows me to express myself with more details and information.

So, knowing the fact you must not use cheats to receive these achievements and trophies are great way to express your earnings and to express that you have accomplish something without cheating. That makes your self esteem rise. Earning achievements and trophies is another way of saying, "What!? You upset I was able to get this achievement/trophy and you weren't"

Maybe one day achievement/trophy whores can help out one another...Wait! What am I saying? They already do? Of course they do, I'm not so familiar with trophy whores but I know for a fact achievement whores would want to play games Like Halo 3, Gears of War 2, CoD4: Modern Warfare etc. so they can go and collect multi-playing achievements with other players. Some might be achievement whores, or some just might be some player in the middle some achievement whores quest to received that achievement. Nonetheless, achievement/trophies whores are inbound.

I can share with you read that I'm in fact NO achievement/trophy whore (can't be a trophy whore I don't own a PS3), but I can tell you that I play video games because it relaxes myself from the stressful tensions I have to deal with everyday. Achievement/Trophy Whores In my own opinion are awesome and sometimes relevant to communicate with. The only negative thought I have about achievement/trophy whores is exactly what MattAY mentioned "One friend said they annoy him, because people with higher scores think they're better at games than everyone else" These players in my thoughts are just trying to prove that they can earn goals faster than people, I feel as if they're trying to show off what they earn, their skills at video games in my opinion might not be better than other players. I know for a fact earning achievements/trophies does not make you higher on rank listings (unless some achievements/trophies want you to get 100 wins or so)

So for my conclusion of this irrelevant blog, achievement/trophy whores are everywhere. You got to love them, you got to hate them...but most importantly....you must live with them "BOO YAH!!"
