Windows 10 Review for Dummies

After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Game Review
Posted on Thursday, September 9 2010 @ 03:15:25 PST

Developer: KOEI
Publisher: NetMarble
ReleaseDate: US 2010
Official Website: Uncharted Waters Online

Before NetMarble announced the schedule of the CBT. I had decided to download the client and register to be able to play the game. I want something different from other MMORPG that most kids like nowadays. As a player, I appreciated the game like how I appreciate SC2 and WoW. Uncharted Waters Online is different from other game with the same genre. It gives satisfaction to the players unlike other pirate games, which gives limited excitement to the players.

Uncharted Waters Online has a very easy tutorial mode so that the newbies will finish the quest immediately and do another mission. In the tutorial, you will learn how to sail, trade, and battle. Depends on the class you chose - battle-type, trade-type or adventurer-type. In battle, the tutorial is more about, from the word itself, battle. You will learn things about melee battle, land battle and sea battle. In adventurer, it'll be easy for you to sail since you have the tool to quickly navigate and to go to your desired destination. You will discover more places since your goal is to adventure and explore different places and country and/or town. While as a trader, the tutorial will be more about the market, how to buy and/or sell and to go to other town or country to do trading stuff. The tutorial will be more about going to different places to buy something and delivered it to other place.

Trader     Adventurer   Maritime   The only con I noticed was the tutorial is too long. The player gets boring immediately because of the tutorial. And everytime you create new characters, you can't skip the tutorial mode.

The graphics of the game are fascinating. The face is very detailed as well as the clothes. The places are elaborated on the map. If you zoom in the screen when you are sailing, you will see the waves in the ocean looks real.
There goes the big ships compared to the default ship for each player As well as the presence of the moon   Instructor Alan from the Tutorial quest guide With regards to the sound, it is a bit boring too. The quest where you have to sail from another country, really annoyed me. So I just plugged out the headset since the sound doesn't help at all. The game would be more thrilling if they incorporate a much appropriate and stunning sound effects and background.

As for the character, I like the game because you can't just battle pirates but you can also dress up your character and buy clothes to different country. You can buy armor, clothes, food/drinks for your character. You can also buy any decorations for your quarter.

The story mode looks easy and you can gain more exp and Ducats for finishing the given quest. When you don't know how to use compass it is possible that you get lost. So you can't leave your ship sailing alone in the sea. You have to wait for long looking at your ship on your monitor if it's near its destination. I'm talking about the slow sailing process of the game. I recommend this should have a teleportation ability. ^_^

But so far, so good. I really enjoyed the game because of all the quest. It was amazing and I recommend players to try Uncharted Waters Online on its OBT. See the difference, explore the new game, and conquer the possibilities!
