Different Ink Colors::
During the intro, use L or R to change the ink color you use to scribble on the bottom screen. The initial color is white, and can change to black, pink, blue, cyan, green, yellow/orangish, red, and gray.

Resist Harmful Items:
When you break open a crate or barrel, press Guard. Any harmful items (poison, anvil) will not hurt you. This works for everything but bombs.
