These cheats work for all versions of Nintendogs

Get a Jack Russel Terrier:
Find the Jack Russel book on a walk and then visit the kennel to buy it.

Get a Dalmation:

Tell a Gift from Another Dog:
During a walk and you see a [?] box, your dog will bark once if it's a gift or twice if it's another dog.

Special Treats:
Whenever you see a lightbulb or bone icon, you can grab it with the stylus and drag it to your dog's mouth to have him eat it like a treat.
