For this you'll have to get the horn of plenty and right click on it. This will give you some tasty chicken legs.

Hidden song
At the begin of a new game give all Your money from one character to the other character (ie. the money holder). Then start another new game, and select the money holder as one character and create an entirely new character. Transfer 1500 gold from the new character to the money holder. Repeat as needed to build your gold total.

More Gold
You will need enough inventory items to fill all of your inventory slots and 10,001 pieces of gold. Place 10,000 pieces of gold on the ground. Make sure you have 1 or more pieces of gold in your inventory and that the rest of the inventory slots are filled - big items work best. Close inventory. Try to pick up 10,000 gold pile. No slots are available so place 10,000 gold back on ground. Open inventory. 1 piece of gold has now turned into 10,000 pieces of gold. Right click and remove 9999 pieces of gold and place on ground. Close Inventory. Pick up pile of 10,000 gold. Place gold back on ground. Open Inventory. Remove 10,000 pieces of gold and place on ground. Pick up the 9999 pieces of gold. Remove 1 piece and place that in inventory. Place 9998 pieces on gold. Continue until you have piles and piles of gold to buy all those rings and books.

DS editor
If you have downloaded the ds_editor, then you have the best darkstone cheat that there is. After you have loaded the game, do not put all the patches in, nor the new quest for the cheat will not work. What I did was installed the game, and only put in the patch 103. Then I started the game, and picked who I wanted, the thief, saved the game, and then hit alt and tab at the same time to get you back to windows. I opened the ds_editor and in options picked the 103 setting and then pressed refreshed. Low and behold, there was the way to increase my level to 47 to start, and all the money I wanted. You can do this for each character you want. After doing this, I un-minized the game, and leveled up, and then re-saved it for each character I did this to. Then I got out of the game, and added the rest of the patches and the new journey. So much easier to play the game when you can start at a higher level and lots and lots of money.
