StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Kerrigan Abilities Guide

Level 1

Kinetic Blast (Ability)

50 Energy / 10s Cooldown
Kerrigan Deals 300 damage to a target unit or structure from long range.
OR
Heroic Fortitude (Passive)
Kerrigan Gains +200 maximum life. Life regeneration increased by 100%.
OR
Leaping Strike (Ability)
50 Energy
Kerrigan leaps to her target and does 150 damage to it. Can be used without a target to travel quickly.
Passive: Kerrigan gains +10 damage.
Passive: Attack range reduced by 3.

Recommended Selection: Kinetic Blast. It allows you to one-shot nearly all non-hero enemies making it the most impactful of the three.

Level 5

Crushing Grip (Ability)
50 Energy / 10s Cooldown
Enemies in target area are stunned for 3 seconds and take 30 damage over time.
OR
Chain Reaction (Passive)
Kerrigan’s attacks deal normal damage to her target, then jump to additional enemies. Deals 10 damage to up to four secondary targets.
OR
Psionic Shift (Ability)
50 Energy
Kerrigan dashes through enemies, dealing 50 damage to all enemies in her path.

Recommended Selection: Chain Reaction. It substantially increasese Kerrigan's Damage Per Second (DPS). It'll allow you to consistently destroy groups of enemies as long as she's around.

Level 10

Zergling Reconstitution (Ability)
30s Cooldown
Killed Zerglings respawn from your primary Hatchery at no cost. Respawns up to 10 Zerglings every 30 seconds until all Zerglings have returned to life.
OR
Improved Overlords (Passive)
Overlords morph instantly and provide 50% more Supply.
OR
Automated Extractors (Passive)
Extractors automatically extract vespene gas without drones.

Recommended Selection: Improved Overlords. Wiith it you can simply make a few Overlords whenever you hit Supply Cap. It adds a large sum of convenience to each mission.

Level 20

Wild Mutation (Ability)
50 Energy / 25s Cooldown
Friendly Zerg units in the target area gain +200 maximum life and 100% increased attack speed for 10 seconds.
OR
Spawn Banelings (Ability)
50 Energy / 30s Cooldown
Kerrigan spawns 6 Banelings with timed life.
OR
Mend (Ability)
30 Energy / 8s Cooldown
Heals Kerrigan for 150 life and friendly biological units nearby for 50 life. An additional 50% of the amount healed regenerates over 15 seconds.

Recommended Selection: Mend. It allows you to keep your swarm up whether you're in an enemy base trying to take buildings down, or defending your base from a huge wave of enemies.

Level 35

Twin Drones (Passive)
Drones morph in groups of two at no additional cost and require less supply.
OR
Malignant Creep (Passive)
Your units and structures gain increased life and 30% increased attack speed on creep. Creep Tumors spread creep faster and farther.
OR
Vespene Efficiency (Passive)
Vespene gas harvesting efficiency increased by 25%

Recommended Selection: Twin Drones. Combined with Improved Overlords you'll be able to worry about your army instead of your economy.

Level 50

Infest Broodlings (Passive)
Enemies damaged by Kerrigan become infested and spawn 2 Broodlings with timed life if killed quickly.
OR
Fury (Passive)
Each attack temporarily increased Kerrigan’s attack speed by 15%. Can stack up to 75% increased attack speed.
OR
Ability Efficiency (Passive)
Kerrigan's abilities have their cooldown and energy cost reduced by 20%

Recommended Selection: Fury. It makes Kerrigan an unstoppable monster.

Level 60

Apocalypse (Ability)
100 Energy / 3s Cast / 300s Cooldown
Deals 300 damage to enemy units and 700 damage to enemy structures in a large area.
OR
Spawn Leviathan (Ability)
100 Energy / 300s Cooldown
Summons a mighty flying Leviathan with timed life. Deals massive damage and has energy-based abilities.
OR
Drop-Pods (Ability)
100 Energy / 300s Cooldown
Delivers Primal Zerg with timed life to the battlefield. Drop-pods contain 40 Zerglings, 5 Roaches, and 5 Hydralisks.

Recommended Selection: All three are extremely useful, but Apocalypse is the most fun to use. It's essentially the Zerg form of the Terran's Tactical Nuclear Strike.
