Buy, Try, or Die: August 2014 Release List

Posted on Friday, August 1 @ 14:00:00 Eastern by

August begins the gentle slope as we warm up (or is that cool down?) to the Fall release schedule. PAX Prime is arriving soon at the end of the month, giving developers one last chance to show their hand for the holiday season and convince us that they're worth writing about.

A handful of titles are simply ports to other consoles or repackaged retail versions like Ultra Street Fighter IV, World of Tanks: X360 Edition, The SwapperDiablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for Playstation platforms, and Metro Redux. Sony's platforms at least will be getting several exclusives with the likes of Disgaea 4, Hohokum, Tales of Xillia 2, and inFamous: First Light.

And we're finally see a release of Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney in North America after succeeding in Japan. (The nerd inside me would squeal if they make a live action film based on it.)

Here's an abridged release list of the major release coming this month, with a significant amount of indie titles cut out but are included in the above gallery:
Aug 5 - Sacred 3 (X360, PS3, PC) [Aug 1 in EU]
