Nintendo Wii U Launch Guide

Wii U Launch Title And Launch Window Lineup

I previously crafted a list of launch titles and launch window titles for Wii U back in late September, but the list has changed quite a bit. More than a few have switched lists, in particular Rayman Legends which has been delayed. Also, Ninja Gaiden III: Razor's Edge and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 have jumped up in the schedule to become launch titles.

All of the titles that are asterisked below have been confirmed by Nintendo off their official site. With less than three weeks until the official launch date (as of the time of this writing), this means that the launch titles will likely be the 22 below or be extremely close to that. Those that aren't asterisked were reportedly confirmed by Nintendo earlier but aren't on their site (so in my mind, they don't count... yet).

I'm so torn between getting a Wii U or waiting for the next PlayStation. I only want one.

By far the Wii U's best game. I'm so bummed it's missing launch.

That game looks so good because it's just like Rayman Origins. I just want more of that.

I will almost certainly be waiting for the next PS or Xbox. Unless Nintendo can prove to me that the Wii U will not just become another paperweight like my Wii is, they won't be receiving my purchase. It just seems too gimmicky, and too distracting, to have to keep looking down at your controller while your trying to play. I'll definitely be checking out what you guys have to say about it, and hope that I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not holding my breath.

All the hardcore gamer games are already out on PS3 & XBox except for ZombiU, hopefully it will have good new exclusives...
Also I know its a Wii "U" but why put "U" in the game names... like ZombiU, doesn't sound cool...

Mostly ports people have already played on other consoles. I am waiting probably 2+ years before even thinking about buying a WiiU, by then there should even be a price drop. The Wii was a dust collector for so long, and I don't want that happening again with an even more expensive Nintendo console. I'm good with the current gen consoles and PC and will just wait for MS and Sony to unveil their next consoles.

Seeing as how I was planning on selling it on Ebay anyway, it's probably for the best that I missed out on the preorders.

You can find Wii Us at or near cost on eBay right now. I think Nintendo held a huge stock and a ton of marketing budget to make sure there wasn't money being made without them before launch.

I've been a gamer since 1985. Nintendo, Sega, Turbo Graphyx 16, - everything till my XBox360.

I honestly have NO IDEA WHAT THIS THING IS.

I've seen the pictures and I know it's supposed to be Wii's successor but I have no idea what benefit if any it has besides having the touchscreen controller. Furthermore, there is nothing about it even making me bother to check up on it.
