Tell GR: Buy, Try, Or Die? [October 2012]

The holiday season is in full effect, and our wallets are not safe. Early in the month, we have Resident Evil 6, of which Blake Peterson will have a review by release day. Let's just say he is mixed on the title.

The following week houses Dishonored, which I believe is going to be sleeper hit that has the possibility of being a Game of the Year nominee. We just received an early copy for review so you can expect the final word from me soon. XCOM: Enemy Unknown comes out at the same time and, from what I saw at PAX for about 20 minutes, has the turn-based strategery that original fans of XCOM desire. (Also: Pokemon... but do we really need to go into that?)

The middle of month is populated by Kinect titles like Harry Potter, Dragon Ball Z, Fable: The Journey, and Dance Central 3, alongside several Vita titles including Ragnarok Odyssey and the controversial multiplayer dungeon-crawler Silent Hill: Book of Memories.

But it's the last few weeks in October that we all have our eyes on, with Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Assassin's Creed III, WWE '13, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, the open-world Forza Horizon, and its racing competitor Need for Speed Most Wanted. I also have to give a shout-out to Zone of the Enders HD Collection—it's been a long time coming.

If they releases Zone of Enders HD on the pc tomorow I would pay $60 for it.

Way too much for my poor wallet. I guess I'll try RE6, Dishonored and ACIII (and buy one of those) and buy Okami HD.

Resident Evil, Assassin's Creed, and Dishonored are pretty much all I'm interested in on that list. I'll be getting AC for sure, but I'd still like to play the other two as well.

DIE = To any motion control games & and the ones I didn't mention in TRY or BUY.
TRY = Dishonored, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, Assassin's Creed 3.
BUY = Resident Evil 6, Assassin's Creed Liberation.

I may try Dishonored. At first I wasn't too pumped because it's an FPS, but the open-ended gameplay and steampunk setting has definitely piqued my interest. Bizarrely enough, it kind of reminds me of escape from butcher bay with all the first person melee. X-COM also looks pretty promising. The only game on that list that i've preordered is ACIII.

With school and baseball distracting me, Assassin's Creed III is the only game on that list that I plan to buy. Perhaps even the only game I'll buy for the rest of the year, although I'm sure two or three games will crop up.

Book of Memories, unless the demo is terrible (which I doubt)
Maybe Dishonored, depending on reviews and videos.
I suppose I need to finish AC2 and play the expansions before I buy 3.

And if the demo is any indication RE6 can go **** itself.

Buy RE 6. Played the demo, I think its going to be a blast. Reminded me of a souped up version of RE:ORC.

Try Dishonored. Its feel reminds me of Bioshock and lets be honest; I can't get enough of Bioshock.

Everything else can die.

I'm interested in New Little Kings Story and I am anticipating it's pricing, I thought it would be a $20 title but it's full price in other regions Really looking forward to Ragnarok Odyssey and Book of Memories. I'll keep my eye on ACIII: Liberation, from everything I hear it's feels just as good as prior ACs.

Oh I also dont think resident evil 6 is releasing on pc on oct 6. Only the consoles.

They keep destroying the Silent Hill name and I am sick of it... This was the game that invaded my dreams and they turned it into an industry joke.

I thought they were releasing Code of Princess in October. I'd totally buy it, if just for the pre-order goodies and it being Atlus.

Sonic Adventure 2 HD, they had better keep the music intact. That was one of the best parts of the game.

Dishonored, Doom 3, Silent Hill (maybe), Assassin's Creed 3 (when released on wii u), and lego lord of the rings. you'd think by looking at my picture i'd be getting RE6, but that is very much not the case, not after that demo.

Last night I got a text saying I have a pre-order copy of RE6 at Gamestop. It made me really mad because that's when I realized Dishonored is also coming out the following week and I really don't have money for both right now. I'm a sad panda... that wants both. I guess I can wait on Dishonored.

Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, and AC3. I may pre-order RE6 and not purchase on release because if it gets a mediocre review would rather play through Dishonored the next week and wait for a price reduction. Will end up playing all 3 but not sure how soon I will purchase...dishonored on realease. New IP reminiscent of Bioshock [SOLD]
