Pokemon Let’s Go Trailer Reveals World Map, Gym Leaders and More

New Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee details have just been revealed via a new Pokemon Let’s Go trailer released earlier today. These new Pokemon games were originally announced back in late May, alongside Pokemon Quest (which has since been released) and a new unrevealed mainline Pokemon title. Details were sparse back then, but now we’ve been given a better look at the upcoming games. Check out the newly-released gameplay trailer below.

In the new gameplay trailer, we can see several returning features from Pokemon Yellow, including the player’s friendly rival (who may or may not be Gary) and Professor Oak himself. Players can choose the gender of their Pokemon, either male or female, as well as customize themselves and their Pokemon partner in a variety of cosmetics. If that doesn’t sound terribly exciting, players can even choose from different hairstyles for Eevee or Pikachu. That means an Eevee with Zooey Deschanel-style bangs or a Pikachu with a tuft of puffy hair on top.

Strangely enough, the Japanese trailer for Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee seems to have more content than the relatively simpler English trailer. For example, the Japanese trailer gets a new cool and intricate world map of the Kanto region. However, there’s no sign of that in the English trailer. Take a look at the Japanese trailer below.

Players can also travel throughout the Kanto region with their Pokemon by their side, and even ride larger Pokemon like Onyx, Arcanine or Charizard. Gym leaders will be present in the games, as we receive first looks at Brock and Misty, both accompanied by their trusty Onyx and Starmie respectively.

Another impressive new feature is Support Play, which allows two players to explore the world, catch Pokemon in the wild and even engage in battles together through local or online means. For those with ambitions of completing their Pokedex, they can trade with their friends too. However, keep in mind that players will need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to utilize internet-based Support Play.

According to PokeJungle, Oddish, Sandshrew, and Growlithe will be exclusive to Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu while Bellsprout, Meowth, and Vulpix will be exclusive to Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee. Both games will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018. For more information on both of the upcoming games, check out the official site here. Meanwhile, check out the awesome new Kanto region world map below.
