Fallout 76 Yao Guai Locations

Fallout 76 Yao Guai Locations – Where Do Yao Guai Spawn?

Fallout 76 adds a lot of new features and ideas to the Fallout universe, like the Mothman and Grafton Monsters, but it’s also got plenty of classic Fallout enemies too. There are Ghouls, Deathclaws, and other familiar nasties, but the ones you really don’t want to run across in the dark are the Yao Guai. You might want to know all the Fallout 76 Yao Guai locations so you can avoid them.

Then again, maybe you do want to hunt one of these terrible, mutated, and occasionally glowing bears? If so, you’ll want to know where to go to actually find them, since West Virginia is a big place. So, where do Yao Guai spawn in Fallout 76? We’ve got a list of all the Fallout 76 Yao Guai locations we could track down. Just make sure you come well armed, well healed, and ready to run.

Where are All the Fallout 76 Yao Guai Locations

Yao Guai can appear in multiple locations throughout Fallout 76. We’ve got a list of the most likely spawn points below. While they aren’t guaranteed to appear immediately at these locations, a bit of exploring around those points should net you an encounter with a Yao Guai, if that’s really what you want. Expect a nasty fight, because they’re quick, powerful, and an especially tough Yao Guai can kill you with one hit.

  • Monongah Overlook: You’ll be sent here as part of Rose’s second quest “Flavors of Mayhem,” the precursor to Key to the Past. North of Top of the World, in the Savage Divide region, you’ll find the town of Monongah. Head up the pass into the mountains and watch out for Yao Guai.
  • Beckwith Farm: Just south of Top of the World and west of Fred’s BBQ Shack and Site Alpha you’ll find Beckwith Farm. Yao Guai can sometimes appear here.
  • Mountainside Bed and Breakfast: Directly east of the Uncanny Caverns, the little yellow and grey house on the map. Go to the nearby train tracks and head either north or south, there should be Yao Guai in the general area.
  • Philippi Battlefield Cemetery: Far to the north this time, just to the east of the Palace of the Winding Path on the map. Yao Guai can be found in the cemetery, and are often just in the parking lot. This one can be high level and elite, so make sure you’re ready before you attack it.
  • Dolly Sods: To the east, in the Mire region, around the building on the map directly north-east of Mosstown and west of Crevasse Dam. You can find the beasts somewhere around the building, usually just in front.
  • Middle Mountain Cabins: Directly east of the White Spring Resort station. Yao Guai don’t always appear, but there’s a chance they will spawn. Sometimes one will spawn in front of the cabins on White Spring Resort itself, where the Scorched are. You’re just as likely to get a Deathclaw, however.
  • Seneca Rock Visitor Center: Now this one’s a very specific spawn. The location is in the Savage Divide, just between Top of the World and Monongah, a little to the east. There’s an Enclave event that begins there sometimes. You may need to change worlds until you get it. You’re tasked with changing lures, and occasionally a Yao Guai will spawn and attack. Make sure you get them before they get bombed to oblivion, otherwise you won’t be able to claim any rewards from them.

What Do You Get For Killing Yao Guai?

Yao Guai have a number of items that make the hunt worthwhile. Of course, first and foremost, you’ll get XP and Yao Guai Meat, which can be cooked into the extremely beneficial Yao Guai Ribs. These cure 45 points of health, depending on your Perks, and add +10% melee damage. However, the main reason Fallout 76 players are constantly on the look-out for Yao Guai is because, more often than not, they will be carrying Loose Screws. Screws are highly valuable for crafting, and other than just scavenging locations and hoping to come across some, Yao Guai are the best near-guaranteed source of these items. Why a ferocious mutated and sometimes radioactive bear would be carrying screws around is another matter entirely, and frankly, we don’t really want to know…
