Smash Ultimate Different Endings – All Good and Bad Endings

(Spoilers ahead!) The Smash Ultimate different endings might throw some players off, as getting the ending you want can be a little confusing. This guide will obviously contain spoilers, as it’s literally about the endings of the World of Light Adventure Mode. If you don’t want the game to be spoiled, go check out our Smash Ultimate character list, or some other spoiler-free guide. If you’re here because you want to get the Smash Ultimate best ending, then keep reading. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get a good ending in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Smash Ultimate Best Ending – All Good and Bad Endings

Now that you’ve gotten this far, we’ll break down the Smash Ultimate different endings. There are three endings that you can get in Adventure Mode, and two of those are definitely bad endings. I’ll write about those two first and then go on to discuss the way to get the one true ending in Smash Ultimate that can actually be considered a good ending. Without further ado, here’s bad ending numero uno.

Smash Ultimate Best Ending – Bad Ending #1: If You Defeat Just Galeem

So, the bad guys in Smash Ultimate are Galeem and Dharkon. They pretty much determine the Smash Ultimate different endings, as they’re the entities that are trying to take over the world. Galeem is the first of the two that you encounter, as it captures 75 of Smash’s 76 fighters at the very start of Adventure Mode. Automatically a bad guy.

Galeem is known as the “ultimate enemy.” Don’t let that deceive you, though, as Dharkon is pretty bad as well. If you focus entirely on Galeem and only manage to defeat it, Dharkon will plunge the world into eternal darkness. That’s definitely a bad ending. So, bad ending #1 is achieved by defeating Galeem but allowing Dharkon to survive.

Smash Ultimate Best Ending – Bad Ending #1: If You Defeat Just Dharkon

Of the Smash Ultimate different endings, bad ending #1 and bad ending #2 are very similar. Instead of letting Dharkon live though, bad ending #2 happens if you don’t manage to take Galeem down. Dharkon may plunge the world into perpetual darkness, but Galeem shrouds it in a blinding light and captures the spirits of all 76 fighters—including Kirby this time around.

If you don’t want your world to be filled with Smash puppets in a world of blinding light, you’ll want to make sure you take Galeem down. Smash puppets and blinding lights? Definitely another bad ending.

Smash Ultimate Best Ending – How to Get the Good Ending

Can you see where this Smash Ultimate different endings guide is going? Kill only Galeem and Dharkon destroys the world… Kill only Dharkon and Galeem destroys the world… Hmm… Maybe kill both of them?

In order to get the Smash Ultimate true ending instead of one of the two bad endings, you’ll need to kill both Dharkon and Galeem. Who would have thought that you had to kill both of the bad guys? Anyway. after destroying one of the two celestial beings seeking to destroy the world as we know it, you’ll quickly need to take the other one  down, too. If too much time elapses, you’ll lose. All of the fighter friends you saved will be enslaved once more in a world of blinding light or unending darkness and this time you’ll be right there with them, a mindless husk controlled by Galeem or a desolate soul lost within the labyrinth of Dharkon’s darkness. Neither of these situations is particularly ideal.

It’s not difficult to get the good ending in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate once you know how to get it. Defeating both Dharkon and Galeem can be done pretty easily once you know that’s what you’re supposed to do. It’s possible that many people don’t realize that they need to be defeated either simultaneously or in close proximity to one another or else the surviving enemy will take over the world.

So, if you want to save all your fighter friends and the World of Light as a whole, you need to get the Smash Ultimate true ending. Kill both Dharkon and Galeem and the entire world will be saved. Well done, Kirby. You did it again.
