What Are You Playing? March 6, 2019

It’s a big week for all the demon hunters out there, with Devil May Cry 5 marking the return of Dante and his haircut. Yes, DMC fans might finally be okay again now that Dante has retrieved his old hair, though GameRevolution’s Jason has been playing through DmC again to see if it really is as bad as everyone said it was (spoilers: it isn’t).

Elsewhere, I’ve been spending the past week winding down after a long day of managing a website about video games by playing another video game. Thankfully, that game is Forza Horizon 4, and it’s oddly relaxing for a game about racing supercars across dirt roads. Mack has been web-swinging into Spider-Man‘s DLC, Bradley has been experiencing Final Fantasy X for the first time, and fresh off his review, Michael has remained glued to Devil May Cry 5.

Check out this week’s ‘What Are You Playing?’ below, and as always leave your own responses in the comments section.

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: Forza Horizon 4. I find cruising through its mini-Britain setting to be a very therapeutic way to end an evening, especially when you tune into its classical music radio station and start drifting along to ‘Clair de Lune.’ It’s definitely one of the best racing games I’ve played, and it looks bloody gorgeous on the Xbox One X to boot.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I’m still plugging away at DmC: Devil May Cry. I haven’t quite finished it yet, but I’ve only been playing a few minutes here and there. Other than that I’ve been a bit busy so I haven’t had time to game. I’m in between reviews right now, so I’m kinda soaking up some other forms of entertainment before the next one rolls along.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “Currently going through the Spider-Man PS4 DLC collection. I feel like they could have done a bit more with the topics covered, but I imagine many good ideas have been reserved for the inevitable sequel. I’m also about to dive back into Rainbow Six Siege, now that the fourth season has kicked off.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “I’m almost done with my second run of Devil May Cry 5 and I’m still having quite a great time with it. It has some issues as I noted in my review but the (mostly) incredible combat is hard to put down. After that, I’ll probably peek into the next hardest difficulty and then finally start the Resident Evil 1 remake or the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey DLC.”

Bradley Russell, news editor: “I’m trying my best to get into Final Fantasy X, having never played it before. Ever. I know, I know. I’ll hand in my game journalist card on the way out. It’s… a little slow to begin with, but I’m hoping to stick with it because I was similarly reluctant to play XII and ended up loving the hell out of that. I’m in a bit of a rut at the moment when it comes to committing to a game so here’s hoping FF X can break me out of that vicious cycle!”
