Yesterday, while cleaning up my media center, I found my copy of Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, which I bought sometime before Christmas last year. I had been pretty excited about this game pre-release, what with it being the first "traditional", albeit shorter than usual,...

I don't get what's so great about it.
Got through 1.5 levels, understood the concept, but then wondered why i'm not playing this game back on the SNES.

Psh, at least get to level 3 before you make such judgements. Or level 4, when shit gets REALLY GOOD.

Trick question. I died many, many times. I think I'm dexterously incapable of collecting all the gems in world 4.

Level 3-4 where luck is the single only determining factor of if you succeed or not indicates this is bullshit.

Yume Nikki: http://www.theneitherworld.com/yumenikki/links.htm

I just don't know. It's trippy and it's made by using RPG Maker 2003. The goal of the game is to collect 24 effects. What these effects are or how to get them is part of the game. Exploration is the key, I guess.

Elona: http://homepage3.nifty.com/rfish/index_e.html

Long-lasting RPG with a main quest that you can forget to go spelinking elsewhere, sleep around, play for ignorant nobles, questing and getting a younger cat sister. Fairy/Claymore to rock the house!

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup: http://crawl.develz.org/wordpress/

Another roguelike and akin to Nethack. Pretty good range of races and classes and loads of fun. Beware of hubris.

I got into ST:O tonight. Started playing at 3pm-ish, looked up at the clock and it was 1AM. Haven't had the time fly like that while playing a game in a long time.

Skill based advancement? Your own ship that you can run around in? Space battles where maneuvering matters? A breast slider? Aww yes. My only huge gripe with the game is this shit:

No one else ever uses frozenbacon. EVER. I seriously spent like half an hour trying to get the password to that account because I could not believe someone else used that name. Its bullshit.

If we're straying into the realm of the Free-2-Play MMO, I got a couple I'd suggest:

Dungeon Fighter Online

and

PlanetSide 2

Just a small update, but apparently the English version of Dungeon Fighter Online closed a couple of weeks ago.

Sad to see it go, but I hadn't played it in a while, and I understand that it might not have had the large playerbase it needed to stay open.
