Red Dead Redemption 2 Jack Hall Gang Map Locations and Treasure Hunt

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now and it’s already one of the biggest games of the year, and there’s a lot to do and find in the deserts and mountains of the Wild West. So why not go on a treasure hunt? One of the most fun quests in the game is the Red Dead Redemption 2 Jack Hall Gang Map mission, which nets you some pretty sizeable monetary rewards so is well worth tracking down.

You’ll need the mission, all treasure map locations, and the final treasure location to complete the mission. Where are the Jack Hall Gang Treasure locations? Where is the semi-buried treasure? How do you get the mission in the first place? And what is the final reward? We’ve got all the answers, so read on.

Where Do You Get the Jack Hall Gang Treasure Mission?

Red Dead Redemption 2 Jack Hall Gang Map Treasure Start

Despite most of the start of the game insisting that you shouldn’t ever return to Blackwater, eventually, you’ll get near it. Just north of Blackwater, north-west of Rhodes, between Riggs Station and Flatneck Station, is the location above by Bard’s Crossing. Here you’ll meet a Stranger who’ll give you the Jack Hall Gang Map side-mission.

He sells you the first part of the treasure map for just $10. It’ll be a bargain, provided you can work out where to go next. Of course, you could just rob the poor fellow if you’re an unscrupulous outlaw sort, or the very poor variety. It’s up to you. Open up your Satchel by holding right on the D-pad, go to Documents (or Recent) and open the map. It’s a bit vague, but that’s what we’re here for.

The first map shows a rock formation near a town. That town is Valentine, the place you began Chapter 2 next to, and have probably visited by this point. You may have noticed the rather distinctive rock formation, but if not, it’s on the map above. It’s Caliban’s Seat, just south of the town of Valentine. The map suggests you’ll need to climb the hill behind the rock formation, and that the treasure is located on the biggest of the two rocks.

There’s a camp at the top of the hill, and just before that is a little path on the right that slopes downwards. Follow that around the hill. There will be some gaps in the path, and unfortunately, you’ll have to run and jump over these gaps, then climb over the wall at the end. Eventually, you’ll get to the end of the path, and find a crack in the rock you can search. You’ll get some goodies and the second treasure map.

The next part of the map is north, just past Fort Wallace, and east of Bacchus Station. You’ll need to head to an area called Cotorra Springs, where you’ll find a big open field and the three geysers you saw in the map, pumping out steam. The second treasure and the third map is located around a rock formation near where the three geysers intersect. The suspicious-looking rock pile has a flat top, and you’ll get a prompt to search it when you get close. You’ll get either some money or a Pearl Necklace, and the final treasure map. This will be the big payout…

Incidentally, if you want to take it on, Cotorra Springs is also the location where you’ll find the Legendary Wolf. This animal is tough so come prepared, but luckily it’s not as tough as the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear.

The third and final treasure is fortunately very close to the last one. It’s directly east of Fort Wallace, halfway between the fort and Annesburg, in the middle of a lake called O’Creagh’s Run. There’s a tiny island, that’s not really more than a pile of rocks in the middle of the lake, with a few trees sprouting out of it. This is the location on the final treasure map.

Swim or ride your horse out to the island, and on the southern, grassy side of it will be a rock you can search. Do so, and you’ll find two gold bars, which you can sell at a fence for a massive $500 each. You’ve completed the Red Dead Redemption 2 Jack Hall Gang Map mission and you’re $1000 richer. Bet you feel guilty for robbing that guy instead of giving him the ten bucks, don’t you?
