Fallout 76 Events – How to Take Part in Events

Fallout 76 is out now, and players around the globe are flocking to the first massively-multiplayer online Fallout game. As expected, while you can explore the West Virginia wasteland solo, there are a number of Fallout 76 events for multiple players to attempt. But how do you take part in these events? How do you find them? What do you get for doing them? We’ve got the answers.

How to Take Part in Fallout 76 Events

To find Fallout 76 events, you’ll need to check your map. Scan it for large yellow diamond shapes, bigger than other markers. These are all the events going on, and they’ll frequently change. Head there either by walking or fast travel. There are events all over the place, but most take place in the general center of the map, so it’s easier for players to get to.

Taking part in these events is simple. Fortunately, you just have to head to the marked location. Once you get there you’ll receive a prompt about an event starting, and the objective will pop-up in your missions on the side of the screen. Likewise if you leave the area, you’ll receive a warning that you’re abandoning the event. Now you just have to follow the objective and you’ll be officially part of the event.

What Fallout 76 Events Are There?

The easiest event is in Flathills, which is probably the first town you’ll come across if you’re following the story. At level 5, we managed to solo this event, so it’s strictly for newcomers. It simply requires players to eliminate the crazed robot foremen in the area, and then change their programming in a nearby terminal. This is generally how most events go: fend off a wave of attacking enemies, and then head to a point of interest. There are a number of other events around the map, such as defending against Scorched at the airport, and presumably Bethesda will add more all the time.

Completing an event will get you some caps, XP, and a bunch of random consumables and junk items. Nothing earth-shattering, but welcome nonetheless. Hopefully, later events will actually dole out some useful gear, or a cowboy hat or something…
