Far Cry 3 is awesome. But I don't want to get into all the reasons why it's awesome, I want to focus on references sneaked into the game in one way or another. So far I've spotted three and they've all been in the bonus missions, The Lost Expeditions:
1. The Lost Expeditions themselves are a huge reference to Assassin's Creed with evidence strongly pointing towards Animus research.
2. When Jacob presses the power button for the elevator he says (in an Irish accent) "Would you kindly work?" - A reference to the sublime Bioshock.
3. When confronted with a crumbling ruin Jacob wishes he had a portal in what I hope was a reference to Valve's classic Portal games.
Anyone spotted any more? _________________ Stuff to read

Ugh...Seriously? I mean, the whole thing feels like AC, but to take it that far? Sigh. |

References are so lazy. They're just "Hey, remember this other thing? SO DO WE!"
References for the sake of references are bullshit. _________________

My favorite is when that one guy is all "Hey, Mr. Longo-two-guns, shut up." _________________

I'm thinking about getting it... do I need to play the first two games in order to get the story or are they seperate? _________________ Some dream of a story with a happy ending, but I dream of a happy story with an ending that never comes. |

It's a lot of fun. Just go in and mess around on your way to objectives. _________________
