I'm definitely doing it. About to run out to GameStop because it's not on Amazon yet. _________________

I'm on October 7th:
I think I got distracted maxing Courage out because I kept wanting to select dialog that required it, but in the end my SLinks are all over the place. _________________

Oh hey, I forgot we had this thread.
I'm actually on October 7th as well. Here's what I'm currently at:
The only stat I have maxed is expression. Everything else is level 3 or 4. I need to get my knowledge, courage, and understanding up, but I keep forgetting to check the fridge.
Though now with the Nanako and Dojima links done, my nights are completely free.
Also, Marie accepted my friendzoning much better than Yukiko. She wasn't even phased.
The best is gonna be Yumi, though. I'm gonna have to screencap it. _________________

I'll be friendzoning Yumi as well. My character started with Yukiko but will cheat on her so hard with Rise.
Edit: So wait, your silence on the matter means you deem my first playthrough as sufficient so far? What should I focus on maxing after Yosuke and Dojima/Nanako? Rise will be just before the end of the game (in December right?) _________________

Yeah, you're doing fine. If you want to have any of the main characters maxed, do so before the end of November just so you can get their perks for the later dungeons. I'd recommend getting Nanako and Dojima done now, while you have a bunch of free nights, and devoting November/December nights to getting skills up and praying at the altar to boost what you have left. _________________

I've done the altar a bunch and also become master of making boxed lunchs. That was one of the first trophies I got actually haha. _________________

You are keeping personas of the arcana you're trying to level on you at all times, right? Because that really helps. _________________

See I had no clue that happened. So the social link levels faster if you have persona on you? _________________

Yeah. I didn't know that either until later times either.
Basically, in order to level, you need a certain amount of those little yellow notes. If you have a persona of the correct arcana, you automatically get one more for agreeing to hang out (3 instead of 2) and you get bonuses when you pick the right responses. _________________

I might be the only one who thinks so, but fusing personas is so much more fun and easy now that they actually have the search function.
Embarrassing fact: I've never realized you can dismiss personas from the menu until like yesterday, so whenever I wanted to get rid of one I just fused it with another one to create more room in my party. So I'm in the middle of June with like 20% of the compendium complete. |

I highly doubt you're the only one who thinks that.
Still, I regular fuse about as much as I use the search function. That way I can make room and get a new persona with a bunch of skills.
Also, I've steamrolled the last couple of bosses. Did they weaken them all? _________________

I don't think any of the dungeons got rebalanced. Maybe on the high and low difficulties.
And thanks for making me feel like less of a persona noob, GL. I knew you could dismiss but 99% of the time I fuse to get rid of personas instead. Seems like a better way since you might expand your compendium.
Thanks for the tip Longo. I knew about the notes but I wasn't sure how to manipulate them. No wonder Yukiko fell to my charms so readily. Well, that plus I'm a way better cook than her. _________________

If you friendzone her, she becomes a good cook. She also runs off the moment you say "Because you're my friend." It's great.
Really, though, on my first playthrough I maxed seven social links total. Yosuke, Kanji, Yukiko, Chie, Naoto, Nanako, Dojima. That was it. I didn't even start like half of them. So don't get discouraged. _________________

I'm thinking about getting into the Persona series... they seem very interesting.
Should I start at the beginning? Or are the games really as frustrating as some say? _________________ Some dream of a story with a happy ending, but I dream of a happy story with an ending that never comes. |

I'm just a social butterfly I guess. I always go for new social links before maxing others out. _________________

You can start where ever. There are some connections between all the Persona games (Like Igor) but you can start at 4 just fine. And yes, when they can insta-kill your MC with Mudo or Hama skills it's frustrating but it's rare. Also, I remembered there's some boss fights that do require some strategy to win. |

I would recommend starting with P3 as there are nods to it in P4. Both of them are available on the Vita. And just play on Easy to enjoy the experience and not have to grind so much on your first Persona game. _________________

Oh yeah, the culture festival is great.
And in terms of Persona games, start with either P3P or P3FES. Both are good places to start. Then you can move on to 4, and from there to mainstream SMT.
Also, are you playing on Easy? Oh Dan... _________________
