It could be true, Ill take a shake at it. Its also not a good indication of how well the hardware will actually perform. The 8000m series while being labeled a higher number set it is still a mobile based GPU They also are not new architecture. They use the same architecture as the 7000series.
As for the cpu rumor is the devkits support AVX (advanced vector extensions) coding extension which is only supported by recent cpus. 4 core hyperthreading would give 8 logical cores which would to me point to a IBM Power7 cpu. The 360 had a tricore IBM processor.
Ram is cheap so it wouldn't be surprising to me if they made the leap to 8gb. Although it is good to remember devkits tend to have more ram than release consoles.
And remember the xbox 360 in comparison is still ancient hardware.
I do know however Microsoft will be selling them at a discounted price if you sign up for two years monthly subscription to xbox live.
The good news is it will play full 1080p(no upscale bs) will be dx11, AVX language, and 64bit. Finally developers will be creating games that can better utilize PC hardware. _________________ “Yeah but when does EA come in when your trying for auto erotic asphyxiation and decide that you are really trying to commit suicide? Won't run windows 8, won't have a 640gb HDD. Much more likely to be 500gb/1tb versions. _________________

| I just want to know what dev teams are already working on games, because most launch titles are garbage. |

| I just want to know if it'll even be able to handle the new game engines coming out soon. If they're going to be sticking with the equivalent of Unreal 3 & Frostbite 2 for the next-gen I'm going to have a very hard time getting excited for the new consoles. |

It runs DX11.1, so that means Unreal 4, Gamebryo 4, EGO 3.5 and Frostbite 2.5 support right out of the box.
It's looking like it'll do 1080p@60FPS and possibly even 4K@30FPS, providing it's running at least the 8570M with GDDR5. _________________
