What do you guys think about Nintendo Directs? I hate how early they are in the morning, but nearly every instance of Nintendo invading our homes via the internet has come with some great software news and hardware news. Everytime they tell us a Nintendo Direct is scheduled, I think "oh, well this can't possibly be worth my time because the last three were so goddamn amazing."

And then they announce the 3DS XL or a new game staring Yoshi... or they date a bunch of games I'm looking forward to. Do you watch the Nintendo Directs or just read the news? Do you want more companies to do Nintendo Direct-style marketing or is Nintendo the only company who could really pull it off?

Good question. I think this type of marketing speaks volumes about the company culture and how they care about the community. I'd love to see Sony do something like this, but maybe on the Vita it would be seen as gimmicky.

They get amazing viewership for only 15 to 30 mins of broadcasting - so I think people sit around patiently waiting to hear about the next direct event. Also, a lot of people are watching from their Wii U so it creates value in the game pad.

They "get" it. I just wish they had more adult type games.
