How to Battle Team Leaders in Pokemon Go

Many Pokemon Go players have taken to the internet in order to find out how to battle Team Leaders in Pokemon GoAlongside the new Pokemon Go Trainer Battles feature comes the opportunity for players to challenge Pokemon Go Team Leaders once per day in order to earn the chance to win a rake of awards such as Stardust and Candy. However, how do you battle Blanche, Candela, and Spark in Pokemon Go? Here’s everything you need to know about battling Team Leaders in Pokemon Go, including where to find Pokemon Go Team Leaders and how to start a battle with them.

How to Battle Team Leaders in Pokemon Go

Battling Team Leaders in Pokemon Go is completely different to battling other players, so knowing how to battle players doesn’t necessarily mean you know how to battle Team Leaders in Pokemon Go. While you don’t technically have to battle Team Leaders, it’s advisable that you do so, as it will net you lots of battling experience as well as some pretty great rewards.

Battling all three Team Leaders in Pokemon Go can be done in the exact same way. All you need to do is select which of the three you want to battle from a list containing Blanche, Candela, and Spark. However, there are certain things you need to do first in order to have the option to choose from this list in the first place.

First of all, players need to be at least level 10 before they’re eligible to battle Team Leaders. Battling Team Leaders is a great way to train in Pokemon Go once you’ve reached this level, but you’ll need to do a little training before you even get to that point. Level 10 can be reached pretty easily if you focus on catching Pokemon, though, and with the amount of Pokemon currently in Go you should be able to take advantage of “new Pokemon” bonuses pretty liberally.

Once you’ve gotten to level 10, you can start engaging in practice battles with Team Leaders. The Team Leaders aren’t that strong, thankfully, so you’ll likely be able to deal with them pretty easily. They may be the Team Leaders, but they’ve got nothing on a Pokemon Master like you! Anyway, even at level 10 you’ll be in with a chance to earn some pretty great rewards from Team Leaders in Pokemon Go.

How to Battle Team Leaders in Pokemon Go – How to Battle Blanche, Candela, and Spark in Pokemon Go.

Once you know how to battle Team Leaders in Pokemon Go, doing so is actually pretty easy. Due to the fact that these battles are technically PvE battles instead of PvP battles, the rules for finding regular Trainer Battles don’t actually apply here. Instead of having to be in close proximity to the Team Leaders, you can battle them right from the comfort of your own home, as if they were your Best Friends or Ultra Friends. The way to battle Team Leaders Blanche, Candela, and Spark is as follows:

  • Click on the ‘Nearby’ button in the bottom right corner of the screen (the button that shows you which Pokemon are around you).
  • If you have updated Pokemon Go, you’ll see the brand new tab called “Battle” on the far left, next to “Pokemon.”
  • Now, you’ll see all three Team Leaders.
  • Click on the picture of whichever Team Leader you’d like to battle against.
  • Beat up that Team Leader in a Pokemon Go PvE Trainer Battle!

Although these Team Leaders are pretty easy to beat and I said that you can go in at level 10, that doesn’t mean that you should. The best thing to do when you’re at a low level like that is to fill out your Pokedex as much as possible in order to gain heaps of experience from catching Pokemon. The higher level you are, the stronger Pokemon you’ll encounter in the wild. Once you’ve got three Pokemon that are 1500 CP or only slightly below, you’ll be ready to take on the Team Leaders in a Great League battle.

How to Battle Team Leaders in Pokemon Go – Team Leaders and Battle Leagues in Pokemon Go

Knowing how to battle Team Leaders in Pokemon Go isn’t all you need to know before you take on the likes of Blanche, Spark, and Candela. This is because although initiating battles with Team Leaders is different from doing so with players, they’re tied to the exact same Battle League format and rules. Great League battles are 1500 CP and under, Ultra Leagues battles are 2500 CP and under, and Master League battles have no CP restrictions. Once you’ve hit level 30 or so, you’ll likely be able to take down all three Team Leaders in Master League battles without too much hassle, allowing you to get some fantastic rewards and valuable experience.

If you happen to be able to compete in Master Leagues already, you should be practicing with Team Leaders every day. Team Leaders give rewards for defeating them once per day and these words are invaluable to players wanting to compete with other serious trainers online. Also, battling Team Leaders provides you with a safe training environment for testing out Pokemon Go’s Pokemon Go unique battle mechanics like the extra charged attack.

As of now, that’s all you need to know about battling Team Leaders in Pokemon Go. Pick your Leaders, pick your Battle League, take no prisoners, and you’re sure to win.
