Looking to buy an IPS/PLS/whatever else fits this category monitor. I've heard they're amazing, does anyone have on that can agree?
Assuming they're as amazing as I hear, is 1440 resoultion worth it? Or should i just stick with 1200.
Looking to spend maybe 700 tops.
Learn me.
I've heard Dell makes some of the best monitors. I'd normally steer clear of Dell but a monitor I don't mind.
I love Samsung too. _________________ The above statement is true

| I just had a Hazro hz27wb delivered yesterday actually, but I don't think they are sold in the US. Same 1440 resolution but has no internal scaler so lower input lag than the Dell and Samsung. Its amazing, definitely get one. |

I've had a Hazro 27 for a couple years now too. The difference in color between and IPS and TN is really quite drastic. Not to mention how much more desktop space you have. I still have my old TN 1080p monitor that I use on occasion - it's a typical 23" or so - and the desktop space feels really small in comparison.
I got the Hazro because it was cheap and they get good reviews and I have had any problems with it. The biggest problem I have with it is that there really isn't any monitor settings and one input, but it's hard to complain about a ~$450 27" IPS when all the big names start around 700. |

More resolution is always better. Can't wait to see 4K, 30" monitors. Dat PPI.
So, yeah, spend some money and grab something 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 if you want to be an old man sticking to a dead resolution.
I wish i could find a good 1440, 120hz IPS panel. There's some, but they're expensive and bloody hard to find.
Maybe in 5 years 4K will be the standard like 1080p is now and i'll be able to pick a 4K monitor up cheap. _________________

Oh man 4k gaming will make me jizz my pants.
The one panel 4k. not the running 4 1080p monitors one. _________________ “Yeah but when does EA come in when your trying for auto erotic asphyxiation and decide that you are really trying to commit suicide? Then they force you to do what they want.” |

Dell has great IPS displays. I'd totally buy one but I have more important things to spend 650 dollars on. (If I was gaming a lot more I'd totally get one.) _________________

When you have a kid their needs definitely take precedence over your wants. _________________

Love Samsung PLS, been running a 24 inch SA850 for ages, it's really great in all ways, except specific backlight bleeding in the corners on a 100% black image but I rarely choose to stare for hours into a black void but when I do I turn the monitor off, FIXED! And the newer models have that sorted now, I think mines one of the first PLS panels out.
The coating is very non-glare, a feature not obvious from reading spec sheets but pretty important to check. I think most Dell are glossy so avoid them if you're like me and can't stand your own reflection.
At 24 inch the extra resolution of 1200 from 1080 is enough to be practical but I couldn't justify the price jump from 1200 to 1440 or 1600. If you had to have a 30inch though you would want to have a look though. Basically anything is better than TN in the end though hard to go wrong with ASUS Dell Samsung Tesco |
