E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

I also have the blue XL (following my blue regular 3DS), but I hate how few alternative colors come to the US. There are tons and tons of choices in Japan and elsewhere but the US only gets two?

Apparently people here hate white and silver, so whatever.

I did get the blue one that comes with Kart. I'm not wild about it, but it's tough to complain about the colour when I got it for a ridiculous price. I can always colour it myself, I suppose. Or find a sticker or plate or something.

You think that's why they don't send us awesome colors. To sell us cheap plates and skins that we have to keep buying?

Yeah, I'm probably going to see a purple plate available for the XL, for fifty bucks. :p

Saw an XL model today the first time. Holy hell that thing is huge.

I have a nice shiny aqua blue 3DS.

It is quite large. Especially when you see it sitting next to your regular 3DS. Probably my only real complaint with the XL system is that the battery is still pretty shitty.

Now I'm seriously considering trading my 3DS for an XL due to the amazing RPG line up this spring....

Seems like it's impossible to find a decent case for these things....

Yeah you gotta go without a case. It's too pretty. I love the blue and black and how it doesn't show finger prints... well hardly.

I just keep it in a random case I had on me, not sure where it's from.

Somewhat related, were people able to find screen protectors for both screens that A) didn't cost a fortune, and B) didn't cost more of a fortune for twenty additional and mostly useless things?

I have some generic protective covers that I can cut to size, but I'd rather have it done up for me. When I looked in stores, they either had both sizes as part of a million dollar deluxe accessory set, or they had just the one side. Ridiculous, isn't it?

I try to carry my 3DS around whenever I got to events. Usually plenty of street passes in highly public or crowded places.

I actually haven't gotten too many street passes, and I take mine with me because of the pedometer. And coins. Razz It kind of feels a little weird to have access to strangers like that, even if it is by their permission.

Alright so how long do you guys think it'll take for the 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro to be released here, because I'm not fucking importing a peripheral for Monster Hunter.

i heard it's in development or soon to be released but having a 2nd circle pad for the camera controls is much better than the touch screen or L+R. my hands cramp all the time i play kid icarus uprising so i don't even play it much anymore

maybe I've been playing the wrong games or maybe it's because I'm a bit new to the system (got the wife an XL in blue for xmas), but will the circle pad pro be a significant boon to playing games?

Like Acid described, it is a big help in certain games with a 3D camera, like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, or in games with fine aiming controls, like Kid Icarus or Resident Evil: Revelations. I've never felt the need for it, even in RE: Revelations, but Kid Icarus could benefit from it, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is practically unplayable without it. The camera controls in that game on the touch screen are terrible.
