Apex Legends Loot Boxes | How do Apex Packs work?

Apex Legends Loot Boxes | How do Apex Packs work?

Apex Legends Loot Boxes

Apex Packs act like your standard Loot Box in Apex Legends. You will never receive any gameplay altering items from them, however. The Apex Packs are purely cosmetic in terms of contents. You will receive three random items in each pack out of this list:

  • Banner Frames
  • Banner Poses
  • Banner Stat Trackers
  • Crafting Metals
  • Intro Quips
  • Kill Quips
  • Legend Finishers
  • Legend Skins
  • Weapon Skins

The Apex Legends Loot Box drop rates are explained in-game, but we’ll put them here, for good measure. The probability of receiving a Rare or better item from an Apex Pack is 100 percent, Epic or better: 24.8 percent, and Legendary 7.4 percent. There is also a less-then one percent chance you will receive a Bonus Heirloom Set.

You will never be given a duplicate cosmetic item in an Apex Pack, either. If you already have all of the available items in any given rarity tier, you will receive Crafting Metals of that level instead. There is also Apex Pack bad luck protection. This means that you are always guaranteed to get a Legendary item from an Apex Pack within every 30 Packs. Essentially, if you open 29 Apex Packs without a Legendary item, you will receive one on the 30th Pack you open.

Apex Legends Loot Boxes | How much do they cost?

Apex Legends Loot Boxes

With solid rarity probability, bad luck protection, and a guarantee of no duplicate items, the Apex Packs have got to be pricey, right? Correct. Buying one Apex Pack in Apex Legends will set you back 100 Apex Coins (in-game premium currency). You can buy Apex Packs either one at a time or in batches of ten (for 1000 Apex Coins). The thing is, Apex Coins don’t come cheap. The full list of Apex Coins prices is as follows:

  • 1,000 Apex Coins: $9.99 (£7.99)
  • 2,000 Apex Coins (plus 150 bonus): $19.99 (£15.99)
  • 4,000 Apex Coins (plus 350 bonus) $39.99 (£32.99)
  • 6,000 Apex Coins (plus 700 bonus): $59.99 (£49.99)
  • 10,000 Apex Coins (plus 1,500 bonus) $99.99 (£79.99)

It will cost you $9.99 to buy ten Apex Packs. There is a way to get some for free, however. Upon reaching a new Player Level, you will randomly be awarded an Apex Pack for free. This lasts right up until the Level Cap of 100.
