Finally Broke My Crowdfunding Rule
By oblivion437
Posted on 01/12/15
I've had a long-standing rule to avoid getting involved in any sort of crowdfunded activities.  I didn't donate to Shadowrun or Wasteland, but I did buy and enjoy both of them (I'm plugging both of those games right now, just so you know they're good).  I haven't...

I want to get a rts but not sure which.

If you could choose 1 between Sins of a Solar Empire, or Dawn of War II: Retebuition, which one would you get?

DoW is only $7.49 but has got soooo much DLC it's crazy. If I got the complete DLC pack with it, the price doubles, effectively becoming $15 for the "complete" game.

Sins on the other hand is $10 with a DLC that is $2.50

So the prices are pretty close. Which one should I get?

As someone who's played both, Sins.

Sins is a better game, but the one thing it lacks is a campaign. Which means you're mostly just playing huge skirmishes against the computer. That, and it's really a 4X game as much as it is an RTS. So it takes a LOT of time to do even a single match.

It basically comes down to whether you want quick and in depth or long and in depth, with Dawn of War being the former and Sins being the latter.

Sins of a Solar Empire is a damn good game.

Having played the standard and the trinity pack, i don't see the point of Rebellion apart from the Titans. Does the new graphic engine improve it all that much?

Errr... 2 hours left.

I already have the other two games. Bought the "pack" before Human Revolution came out.

Does anyone else want those games?

Skyrim almost below $20! So close... but I think I'm going to keep holding out. In a few months Fallout 4 or some shit will be announced and Skyrim will be dirt cheap during the winter sale.

I've been on a buying spree with the summer sale. I usually don't pick up that many but I decided to stock up this time around. So far I've picked up:

Baulders Gate: Enhanced Edition: $5
Borderlands 2 Season Pass: $10
Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heros: $14
The Last Remnant: $3.75
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion+DLC: $12.50
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: $3.75
Torchlight II:$5
XCOM: Slingshot DLC: $1.75

Looking over the list I see a pattern forming.. But anyway, I have enough stuff to keep my occupied for a long while now. =)

Why did I have to have a $1300 car repair this month? I want to buy so many of these games. Sad

Na. I just bought a 2008 Volkswagen GTI and took it in for maintenance and they recommended the big 80k mile timing belt change + more. I figured I'd do it since I'd have to at some point anyway. Smile

Is that a reference to NNT playing Skyrim?
