FEATURED VOXPOP maca2kx Metal Gear Solid was a watershed moment in gaming for me. The graphics, at the time, were phenomenal; the story was winding and engaging; the gameplay was sharp and not above breaking the fourth wall when appropriate. Moving diagonally does feel very weird, especially with the stick. Really wishing the D-Pad and stick were swapped around for this game.

The 3D is so utterly useless that we now know the REAL reason Nintendo released the 2DS.
Damn shame, too, because i'm a big fan of the 3D effect healthbars.

Oh, well. Gonna buy a 2DS soon to continue playing and for when MH4 is released. This way i don't have to keep using my nieces pink 3DS.

Just beat the second gym leader.

My team is pretty solid so far, but I haven't decided on a final team yet.

Right now I'm sitting with:
Level 28 Frogadier
Level 27 Lucario
Level 30 Combusken
Level 27 Ivysaur
Level 29 Farfetch'd
Level 28 Alakazam

considering how hardcore this game is so far...I wouldn't be surprised if I finalize a team at level 60.

Just so many pokemon...

Quite disliking the Horde thing. Only very rarely actually fun.

Also, how do you get the Lucario?

Riolu evoves into Lucario when you level him up in the daylight with a high enough friendship.

But spoilers: you'll get given a Lucario when you learn about the mega evolutions, but I still evolved my own

Yeah but i mean how'd you get a Riolu? Is there a Route they're on or do i have to wait for the Lucario?

I usually like evolving my own, too.
Need to leave an open slot on my team. At the moment:
Lvl 31 Braixen
Lvl 29 Combusken (Mystery Event yeeeeee)
Lvl 28 Litleo
Lvl 25 Wartortle
Lvl 16 Absol (New)
Lvl 15 Axew (big fan of the evolution, but probably getting swapped out for Riolu/Lucario)

Ditched Pikachu and the flying fire bird thing because Pikachu is actually kinda shit and the i already have 3 fire types. Actually thinking about swapping out Litleo for the bird so i have something that can learn Fly later on.

Route 22, which is the little optional side route by Santalune City.

They're kinda uncommon to find though.

the Horde battles are slow going for sure. I think the problem is the A.I is too good; the hordes use strategy to overtake you and you need either patience or area attacks to fight back.

So even though there's the friend code thread, we should post our codes and which version we all have.

Just to interest people into possibly trading down the road.

I still hate Nintendos stupid friend code shit.
See if 1075-1569-8342 works. It's my nieces so if it say sarah, that's it.

Got Y here.

Also, just tried the GTS.
What drooling mongoloid thought it'd be a good idea to only allow trade for pokemon you've already seen?
Kinda defeats the bloody point, doesn't it?

I am, however, addicted to the wonder trade thing.

The GTS has always been that way. Which is why friend trading is beneficial.

I have X and my code is:

0533-4499-8929

Let's do this.

I've been trading all my shitty pokemon through wonder trade and have gotten some good ones in return.

At least I've been kind enough to give them Pokerus before being traded, so it evens out in my mind.

Yeah, no problem, it's easy enough to spread to my PC pokes, so just let me know sometime when you would be on and I can try to get you one.

I just found out that you can GTS for pokes that you haven't discovered yet. Just when you hit Pokemon You Want, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the alphabet and hit "What Pokemon?" and it will let you spell out the pokemon you're looking for.

Yep, the GTS works well if you just enter the name.

I'm liking the online component of these games. Ties in well with the general, and those o-powers are pretty cool.

How do we all add each other? I tried and it wants me to put a name in and everything.
You can send me over a pooch/mightyeyena and i'll figure out where the Larvitar are chilling

You can put anything as the name. It kinda works as a nametag or reminder for the friendcode before the other person adds your code back. After that the name will change to whatever the person you added has set it as.

But why?
The hell was wrong with just entering a single, simple name like every other online service on this planet of ours?
Why does it ask you to enter a name if it's going to change anyway?
