Well, Gamergate has spilled over into the mainstream media and the coverage appears to be nearly uniformly dreadful. Take " What is Gamergate, and What Does It Say About Gender In Video Games? " by David Konnow as an example.  It appears that the writer has done little to no...

Recently installed a self-contained liquid cooling unit from Corsair after rendering a mahoosive lightwave file for my sister's final project. On the stock cooler I was pushing 65-70C flat out at 3.5GHz 4-core turbo.

Been torture testing with Prime95 for the past hour at 4.4GHz and haven't broken 60C.

*MOST games will never ever ever ever ever EVER need this much CPU. However all my "Dad-game" flight sims like DCS A-10C and especially MS FSX with all my addons run soooo much better. Going to pay dividends when rendering also, but I will be dropping the clock to stock turbo, about 3.8, for that. Even keeping it cool, running flat-out for 100+ hours will not a happy system make...

Now to throw Kerbal Space Program at it...

What CPU?

I was gonna go for a H80 or similar until i realized that even at 4.6ghz my 2500k didn't break 70 degrees on air cooling running intel burn test. Generally sits at 55 or less while gaming.
Might end up doing it one day soon anyway. R9 280X combined with 4.9ghz should give me a nice bump.

Jealous. I'm desperate to build a computer but I don't have the money.

I7 2600k. Enterprising madmen have pushed it further, but I was more interested in getting some better performance over going for a benchmark record. Also, I just installed the sucker last night. I wanna give the thermal paste time to cure and break in, so we'll hold off on ludicrous speed for now.

It's kind of funny you built a PC complete with a CLC, and yet take a picture of the screen with your phone.

Phone was expedient, heh. Actually took these to text to my best friend who's got a Cosmos 2 case he's trying to fill. He kept telling me to get a bigger cooler but I had to show him I don't have a case that can double as a fallout shelter so the h100 series was about as big as I dare go.

I have a H80. I love these coolers. really great for helping my friends that are definitely afraid of leaks or having to deal with making their own cooling loop.

Here is a funny video of someone installing 40 fans on a H100 in push pull.

Great googity moogity!

Being an auto mechanic, the ace I always held up my sleeve on H2O setups was BMW and Mercedes hose clamps. They're the absolute best clamps in the world, and a few minutes of effort at a local salvage yard can net you a handful for almost free.

I've never had one of these self-contained units before. Very pleased with it so far.

Just a habit. Same reason I won't run anything short of a full tower. All my life gaming rigs had huge towers and dual drives. Just a dumb personal quirk.
