I am a PS3 owner and someday hope to be a PS4 owner, yet I am not at all dissatisfied with my choice to delay purchase, solely based on the current PS4 library. When I transitioned from a Playstation 1 to a Playstation 2, I was pleasantly surprised that I could for the most part rid myself of my PS1...

Before this thing gets started let me be perfectly clear on one issue: there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. My speed is just fine, as is the connection on every single other wireless device connected to it.

My issue is as follows: my laptop takes a long time to connect to our house's wifi (the connection is just fine, it just takes a long time to get there). I know it's not the actual connection because everything else that's connected connects in no time with no issues. It's just my computer that has the problem. I boot up my computer, go to open Firefox, it says it's either connected or connecting, then I sit there for two or three minutes while it establishes a connection. My girlfriend's computer (and every other computer that's ever accessed our network) does not do this. They connect almost immediately and that's that for them. When my computer does finally get connected, I have no further problems with the connection.

I've updated my network drivers and it didn't seem to help any. Every other site I've checked into this issue with has come back with nothing. Any advice?

Gracias.

It's possible your device is set to low priority. Otherwise, it seems to me that your network card might be garbage.

You might want to look into these:

Try clearing your cookies. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Delete Cookies. In Firefox, go to Tools > Clear Private Data and select just the cookies option.

It has also been reported that AVG can cause this issue.

Did you log in to your router settings and check to see what channel it's on? If not, try logging in on your laptop and check the wireless channel setting. If it's set to automatic change it over to 11 and make sure it's set to remember the selection through a power cycle.

That's entirely possible. I was on a bit of a budget when I bought the computer, so it's not exactly equipped with high-end hardware.

It does it with every wireless network it's ever been on.

Can only suggest new wireless card and fresh windows install, then.
