shadow of the tomb raider the path home

Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s last DLC is available now

Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s last DLC, titled The Path Home, is available now for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. For the time being, this add-on is only available via the Season Pass, which you can buy for $29.99/£24.99. Additionally, all of the tombs in the base game now have Score Attack and Time Attack modes.

“The Path Home follows the end of Shadow of the Tomb Raider,” reads the announcement video’s description. “With the battle over but allies gone missing, Lara must search for them while uncovering an ancient hidden mystery.”

According to an official blog post, Lara will travel through “ancient tunnels” and fight remnants of the Trinity while also discovering the “ultimate secret” of the Yaaxil.

The update comes with a few extra missions, some gear, and a new challenge tomb. The mission, named Eternal Reward, has a description that reads, “to save her friends and allies, Lara Croft must uncover one more ancient secret.” Beyond these, Lara also gets two new outfits. One is the Midnight Sentinel, which provides her with longer focus and perception time. The other is the Tactical Adventure Classic and brings with additional ammo from crafting on the go and extra XP from stealth attacks.

Lara also has a new weapon and ability. The weapon is a bow called the Silver Strike, and it pierces through enemy armor or a group of unarmored enemies. Then, the Magic Touch skill ensures Lara uses fewer resources while crafting out in the field. Finally, the new challenge tomb, Mother Protector, is playable both solo and in co-op. “Navigate this ancient and puzzling new challenge tomb to restore the goddess Xquic,” its description reads.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s latest DLC is the final of seven total planned content drops. Previous packs were The Forge, The Pillar, The Nightmare, The Price of Survival, The Serpent’s Heart, The Grand Caiman, and now The Path Home. Our review of Shadow of the Tomb Raider called the game content with “living in the shadow” of its prequels. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, however, as the previous games are all good in their own rights.
