| So recently i tried playing Brawl when my wii refused to read the disc. so i decided to clean off the disc and try again. no use. so i put in another wii game just to see if it reads it. it reads it fine so i figure somethings wrong with the Brawl disc.(even though there are no marks or scratches on the disc) I clean it once again and try. still not working. i try more games and now none of them work.(not even the one that worked before) Has anyone else encountered this problem? |

Did you check your messages? <_<
Maybe you need to use a lens cleaner and take better care of your discs. _________________ You're full of myself.

the laser lens thing that reads the discs is probably dirty.
Assuming that's the case, you'll have to send it in to Nintendo to get the lens cleaned.
It was a common problem for new Brawl owners, as well as Mario Kart Wii, as they used dual-layered discs instead of the single-layer discs of other Wii games, and a dirty lens can't reliably read both layers.
I have no idea how to explain it no longer reading ANY of your games, though. That one's beyond me aside from what De-Ting said about taking better care of the discs. |

Exactly what Squiggy said. It happened to me and I sent it in to Nintendo for free so they could replace the disk reader. Dust gets into the disk reader, which makes it too hard to read the dual layer disks. My problem was it was on the carpet, making it so dust got into the Wii alot easier. Now it's 4 feet above the ground and it's been fine ever since. _________________

it probably is the dust. because it sits on the carpet. |

Putting consoles on carpet is never a good idea. Dust, plus not very good ventilation either. _________________

My friend's Wii did the same thing. He was out downstairs somewhere, so I popped in the Wii and tried to play a few games. None worked. He said he hadn't played it for a while, but the little cabinet he kept it in, I noticed, was really dusty. _________________

I had that problem before and with each game I played it got progressively worse to the point where every game crashed. I sent it out and they fixed it but damaged the case so I sent it back, free of charge and they, without warning, sent me a brand new one instead. It was a nice gesture, but dammit I lost all my save games.
Moral of the story, save your games to an SD card and get the problem fixed (for free too). |

| that's never happened to me before... but my cord from the AC Adapter came loose, but I moved it around a little bit and it works fine now. I haven't had any problems with it at all. |
