There's already a topic (with a correctly spelled subject ) in General. But if I get Borderlands in the next few days like I'm hoping, I'd love to party up with you and everyone else. |

The subject is misspelled on purpose. You kids don't get the intarnet yet do you?
Also, this is for the PC version which is different from the console version.
You are quickly making this place unbearable. |

I'm planning to get this for the PC, it looks fun. How is it so far, Stal? Biggest downside just from looking is it looks cartoony. Not a big deal if it is still a good shooter though. _________________ In my alter ego, I don't wet the bed. |

I'm playing this on console but in terms of gameplay and graphics I'd doubt there's much difference so I can answer your question, Kiristo.
Yes, it's cartoony, but that being said it's beautiful. One of the best looking games I've played in a long time, and I'm playing Uncharted 2 while playing this. The cell shading does add a cartoonish feel, but the use of the Unreal Engine makes everything still seem adult. If you don't like games that look like Prince of Persia though this game isn't for you.
If that's your biggest downside and you can still handle it then 100% get this game now. _________________

Stak, General encompasses PC games too. Plus you never specified why you misspelled the title.
On another hand, damn, I wanna get Borderlands. |

Stop making obvious excuses for your dyslexia.
This game is pretty fun but a ridiculous oversight by gearbox's testers, I don't know if you've realized it yet or not, the weapon stats are only displaying 4 lines of text. That means if you have a weapon or class mod that has more than 4 effects/mods/perks, you're only seeing the first four displayed. This makes it almost impossible to compare and make decisions as to which weapons you keep. For a game focused heavily on loot, this is a real shame.
There's a thread on gearbox's forums that has a temporary fix for this. It involves opening the debug menu which should give you the full list of your currently equipped weapon's specs. It however does not work for the class mods.
Hopefully a patch will fix this, in the meantime, here's the tweak to see the full weapons stats in the debug console
Open your WillowInput.ini file located in MyDocuments\MyGames\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config folder. Under the section [WillowGame.WillowPlayerInput] you need to add this line
| Quote: | | Bindings=(Name="F2",Command="dbm_ToggleShowDebug",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False) |
(Make sure you have a long list of other Bindings commands. If you don't you need to make a simple change to one of your key bindings ingame from the options menu and that should automatically create the list in the .ini file. )
After you've done this load your game, open and close your inventory once (not sure why it requires you to do this) and then hit F2 and the menu will come up. The full stats for the weapon you're currently holding will be displayed at the very bottom of all the text.

| Yea it is. A lot of people are pissed off about it. It seems like Gearbox's testers or QA were high or something during their work. |

The pc version also has no patch in sight to fix the Siren's bugged skills, bleh.
Also, my bloatspyID is Tykk (bet you would have never guessed). You kiddos feel free to add me there for some co-op goodness. _________________

If you've been attempting to play online since launch you've probably realized the majority of games are unjoinable. Hosting your own private/public will also result in an unjoinable room because Gearbox was too lazy to do the port forwarding for you.
So if you want to create joinable rooms you need to forward the following ports 7777 (TCP/UDP); 28900 (TCP); 27900 (UDP); 28910 (TCP); 28902 (TCP/UDP)
So far I've just been playing with a friend. It's too much of a hassle to get in public games... |

I've only tried a private game so far, which worked without setting up port forwarding. Pretty good so far, despite the few bugs. Definately worth getting and giving a go if anyone is still wondering. _________________ In my alter ego, I don't wet the bed. |

Me and my friends got around the shitty job GBX did on the online by using Hamachi.
It works better, sets up faster and reduce the lag. Not a bad deal if you ask me. _________________

| I'm probably buying over the weekend. What does it use primarily for online? Steam? |

I'm sure a lot of you have played through this a couple times already, but I just got Borderlands today and am installing right now. Anyone still on that'd want to play once I can level up a bit? _________________
