There's been a shooting at the US Army Base Fort Hood, Texas today leaving 13 dead (including the shooter) and many more wounded:

The shooter was identified as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a military psychiatrist.

Haven't really followed the story so far, but what's the scapegoat this time? Lax gun laws? The existence of guns? Violent war movies? Violent war games? Military culture? Or is this killing spree getting a pass because of who it involved?

I don't see why the investigators wouldn't or shouldn't vilify his faith, or at least bring faith into question going forward. There seems to be a clear pattern here. Ahh but probably politically incorrect, better not chance it.

So just what counts as an act of terrorism these days?
If he shouted 'Allahu Akbar' before going on to kill 10 or more people (is it a numbers thing), if the killer is Muslim, or if he's of Middle Eastern descent? Perhaps all of these??
Or maybe none of these?

Can an act of terrorism be conducted by a single man. It was one Jordanian man who wanted to bomb a building in downtown Dallas.

I wouldn't call this terrorism, but it appears there was some Muslim-y stuff going on. He reportedly shouted "Allahu Akbar" during the attacks, and was in full Islamic garb while at a 7-11 that morning. He was already under investigation for visiting fundamentalist websites too.
