you actually don't need connectivity to the internet for any steam games to play single player (except for those that come with DRM anyways). I play offline all the time.

| Yep, although I'm not sure about online games. now adays most disk games go through steam now. The past 10 games i've bought all gone through steam. |

I guess it is true that you need internet to authorize the game and download updates, but you kind of need that for most games nowadays. But still, you can play most games offline in single player still. steam still functions without teh interwebz you know.
