So who's planning on getting the Wii U?
I'm personally debating whether to get one or use the money I would spend on one and buy a couple things for my computer then buy the Wii U when it goes down or comes out with a cool zelda bundle or something. |

Yeah probably a new graphics card. Last one I bought is still good but I bought it in college so it was budget and is a bit behind the times now. |

On another note, I have three Wii U preorders at different places. Two Deluxe/Black orders at Toys R Us and a Plain/White order at GameStop.
Here's hoping the holiday season is a mad rush for these fuckers.

Unfortunately, I need a Wii first. I know, get the f*ck out, but let me finish. I've been LIVE streaming on Ustream recently and I didn't see this at first, but now I figured out why Wii U looks so familiar.

AMD 1090T. I know most people don't recommend these for gaming but I do a ton of multitasking and the extra cores REALLY help out. I've noticed a huge difference.
My vid card on the other hand is just a 4870. It still plays everything at least on medium settings most of the time but if I decided to upgrade I'd probably take the 7970 for a spin. Or do a smaller upgrade that at least has eyefinity and get another monitor.
OR
Wii U with Mario and probably ZombieU to start. |

| Also... Anyone think Nintendo comes out with all these crazy consoles with screens and doodads and bells because they are harder to emulate? People will eventually emulate a WiiU but it'll be goofy as fuck probably. |

Actually, considering how easy it is to emulate the DS and Wii, i don't think nintendo are actively trying to stop emulation other than shutting down the big rom sites. They know it'll take 2-3 years for a decent emulator to be done for their latest latest console, at which point they've already gotten most of the sales out of that console and now are just getting their money from games. The DS got hardware revisions but that was because handhelds are easy to improve - the Wii is the only current gen that didn't change at all for 6 years.
If anything, the Wii U will be easier to emulate because 90% of games will just use the normal controls and maybe put some non-essential info on the little screen. As can be seen by the PS3, even the motion controls are likely to be ignored harder than camry drivers.
The main problem for nintendo with the Wii U is the simple fact that it's hardware is STILL piss weak and old. It's using a 3 core with a HD4870 (basically) and 2gb of ram, basically overclocked an 360. PC hardware will be at the point where it can emulate retail games on the Wii U decently in less than 12 months, assuming Intel release Haswell on schedule and Nvidia run the Maxwell architecture in 2013 instead of 2014.

| I think I decided to get a Wii U. Now I just need to find somewhere that will still do a preorder. Shouldn't be too hard where I live unless the preorder status is based off of a national supply. I think I'll start off with Mario and ZombieU. |

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...
