It's basically a trade intermediary.

You trade your games away to people requesting the game and you acquire points that you can then spend on games that you request and eventually receive. When you request a game it lines people up in order that they requested it, and then goes down the line whenever someone offers the game to trade away, so it takes a while to get new games because lots of people want it but not many people want to trade it.


I've been doing it for a little while and have something like 3000 points saved up. It's kind of a slow process - especially waiting in line for stuff - but overall pretty useful if you have a ton of games that you don't plan on playing anymore.

Very useful for getting value out of games you no longer want and also useful for building up a catalogue of games. Like I've got an enormous stack of Xbox 360 games that I got for cheap points and haven't even got around to playing yet, including Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2, etc. Lots of cheapo "budget" titles too, but hey, I'll play them eventually. It's my version of renting, basically.

I also use Goozex as a way of giving gifts to my gaming buddies. Like I spent a few points getting all of us copies of L4D and L4D2.

I'd use it I'm sure, but I'm far too much of a lazy hoarder. I look at my games and go "Well, I did kinda like that. I'd want to play it again maybe." or "I spent 60 bucks on that and it's not worth much now. I should probably just keep it in case I want to play it."

Yea, Im a game hoarder too.

Does it have a price or is it like craigslist sex for games - I completely rely on this persons "word" that what I'm looking at is a chick eerrr.. um*clears throat*, I mean the game isn't scratched or broken.

I just started noticing that I have a lot of games and the exchange rates aren't bad. You do have to pay $1.99 for a shipping/transaction fee. But it seems more rewarding than getting offered $5 at the Gamestop and getting next to nothing off of your rewards.

You pay a "token" for every game you receive ($1.99, used to be $.99) and the person sending the game pays for shipping (usually $3.00 or less depending on how you choose to ship it).

I would totally do this but I have no patience and so many of the games I have sitting waiting to be traded are brand new, released on the day I trade them in thanks to review copies.

Honestly, if you really study and learn the system at Gamestop you can get a lot for your money.

I traded in two games and a controller and walked out with 6 games I'd never played before priced at about $20 each.
