The perils of the Hype Train…

The recent release of Evolve and The Order 1886 really got me to thinking about the disparity between the perspective of sales-driven publishers and the quality-driven purchases of consumers. The “Hype Train” is nothing new, but the way it is utilized has been creating far more...

I started a new game right after I beat it, but haven't touched it in a while. The multiplayer is so damned good, I hope the DLC is great, unlike Infinite's (the other great game of '13).

Is The Last of Us the second great disappointment of 2013, behind Bioshock Infinite?

There's a seriously problem with the industry's reliance on over-marketing and pushing preorders.

I sure hope it's not as disappointing as Bioshock Infinite...

Though my friend is gonna let me borrow his copy soon. So I'll find out soon enough.

I don't think it was a disappointment at all. Great story and I'm enjoying the multiplayer. I love how multiplayer is tactical with short ammo supply and having to scavenge parts. I usually don't go back and replaying the story, but I may have an exception with this one, because the listening part was way too easy. It only took me so long to finish the story, because I like exploring and keep restarting my strategy.

I was/ Am so satisfied with its completeness on the story. That sounds like jaded reviewer talk.

I love it too, but the response seems to have totally dropped off. I thought this would carry a lot of people through the summer, but I think part of the problem is that it's a PlayStation exclusive.

I personally feel that he gaming industry and consumers are getting some ADHD. It seems like few games get much notice past 2 months anymore.

I'm just tired of getting burned on games being called flawless masterpieces when they're really anything but. It's happened so many times the last few years that I've stopped buying those games altogether.

Which is why I haven't played The Last of Us yet, despite really liking Naughty Dog.

I can't find any flaws with the Last of Us. Great story, intuitive gameplay, solid multiplayer and the infected in this game are something new and a breath of fresh air. IMHO

The thing I disliked about was the Uncharted feel. Nothing wrong with that except it didn't have much of puzzles to figure out. Sure moving planks of wood and dumpsters are cool to get places, but they didn't have anything to truly think. I did enjoy the use of stealth. I heard someone online while playing multiplayer complain an "Infected" game type wasn't made or another game type just defending against waves of infected. Do you think that would have made multiplayer better?
Dan we should definitely do a roundtable.

GR Radio is going to be doing a round table. They said that on the last podcast. But I think it's going to be an editor/reviewer only.
