Saw this article and thought it was an interesting read:

Leaking information in a way that hardly anybody would be able to determine from the game's fiction has practically ended their careers as SEALs. Worth it for a game that isn't even well reviewed? Doubtful.

I hope they got paid really well for their consulting gig, because they're losing out much more in the long run. It actually makes me want to play the game though, to see what career-ending details they could have let loose.
