Civ5 was an occasional lust. Recently it's been my become my one true.
Finished off some achievements before the expansion. Question for any that own it already: will the new gameplay mechanics/diplomacy filter back down to vanilla scenarios? |

Been playing a lot as the Romans. I'm a little disappointed with how poorly the game has been handling on the huge world map after I discovered satellites. It becomes really sluggish and has trouble loading textures unless I'm zoomed wayyyyyy in. Otherwise, it's been great. Nothing like being an unstoppable force. It's always great when somebody denounces you, and you can respond with a big "fuck you" and 20 nuclear missiles. _________________

While Civ V had a lot of cool new additions and improvements, honestly, I'm finding myself playing Civ IV more. Mostly because the AI in Civ V is TURRIBLE, and because of the super slow loading times once you reveal like a third of the world.
But I once went to war with someone, and after I took five cities of his and had my cannons outside his capitol... he wanted ALL of my gold, ALL of my cities, and ALL of my resources in order to end the war. WHAT?
And planes. Why the heck are planes able to be countered by everyone? I could understand riflemen and above, but spearmen throw homing dynamite at them which usually does more damage to the planes than the planes do to them!
Anyway, I usually play as Egypt and wonder rush. That gives me a pretty heavy advantage in the beginning. Then I spread out and go for conquest when I'm advanced enough. _________________

My only major gripe with Civilization V is the A.I. It really is a mess. _________________ Infinite Ammo. |
