So it's up on Steam for preorder for $40 and is some sort of extra awesome edition for the superior gaming race.

Did you sign the petition and are going to get it? I preordered since I signed the petition saying I would.

I won't be buying on PC simply because I haven't beaten the game on console. Sad I'm a pussy.

This. I got enough steam games from the steam sale to last me at least that long, if not longer.

I originally bought Dark Souls on the PS3, but I traded it in because it was too hard and I kept getting frustrated, e.g. raging hardcore.

But then I bought Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for PC (since I finally have a super awesome gaming machine) and I've gotten so much further than I ever did on the PS3. I still die all the time though - and rage.

The whole resolution issue though kinda sucks... but it's good if you download that resolution fix mod. Dark Souls for PC sucks completely though if you try to use a keyboard and mouse. You really need a game pad if you want to play it properly.

I'm using a cheap Power Wave USB controller, which is a complete rip off of PS2 controllers in terms of design, but it works. You can download mods to pretty much let you use any game pad rather than just an X-Box 360 one.

I prefer the PS3 pad for Dark Souls though, so the off brand seems like a better option than the 360 controller.
