The bad part? It bankrupt me. I started it with 500,000 yen, I ended with like 4,000.

And the only reason I could max them all was because it gives you an extra month in January.

Just finished.

It is now my favorite game of all time, despite its flaws. Incredible. Without comparison in the JRPG genre and certainly the best portable game of all time, even better than Tetris.

Hey Longo, how did maxing maxing the Adachi and Marie social links affect the end of the game?

Also, have you played much of P4: Arena? I have to go finish the stories in that now.

I haven't played Arena, but I got it for Christmas. I'm basically not gonna have time for vidya until the 7th or so, but I'll play it then.

And for the Marie and Adachi ones, you get a few instances of new dialogue and other stuff. Most importantly, for Marie you get an additional dungeon which tells you more about her past (it's a really shitty dungeon with one of the easiest boss fights at the end, and the whole thing with her past is stupid as fuck) and she has a greater importance in the end. For Adachi, you have a rank up instance where you confront him alone (which transforms the arcana), and then for his letter at the end, he calls you a dumbass. Honestly, his social link is handled the best.

All in all, I really like about 2/3rds of the additions to P4G, and that really makes it worthwhile.

The story line in P4A isn't really connected to P4.


I really want to platinum this game, but I have a feeling the Risette trophy will be a bitch, as well as maybe the Reaper one.

You'll get the Risette trophy in a normal play through. I got it at before the final dungeon.

I'm definitely going to Platinum, don't care what stands in my way.

About to start a second playthrough for max social links and the remaining trophies. Do I really need a guide Longo or can I figure out how to max social links on my own now that I don't have to worry about personality stats?

The biggest thing is just knowing the correct "choices" in order to max points quicker.


And obviously always having the correct persona type with you.

Have the choices changed at all from the original release? I've seen Social Links scripts for the PS2 version but not Golden.

No I'm going after Adachi right now. I'm flying to Las Vegas next week so I'll probably save the dungeon for the plane flight though.


Forgot to mention, if you haven't gotten the "reading all the books" trophy you might want to check out how to get them, there are a few that are missable.

I usually do Daisoujou with Samsara instead, since it requires a much lower level to do and he has more resistances.

I started a second playthrough for trophies, but I think it's too early because I'm bored during all the cutscenes. Still, one of my favorite UIs in recent memory. Love the tape deck fast forward when you press start during a scene.
