|
|
I'm looking into purchasing a new game for the 360 and I'm hoping for some suggestions.
Right now I'm considering the following:
Anything from the Elder Scrolls series
Anything from the Fable series
Red Dead Redemption
MineCraft
Limbo
I enjoyed the Zelda's and black&white for the computer so I'm thinking something from Fable might be a good idea, but I'm open to other ideas aswell. What specific game would you guys suggest? |

Out of your list I'd probably get Skyrim. You'd get the most for your money and if you're into exploration, levelling, basically EVERYTHING...then it's for you. The only con is that the main story is very, very short. 3 hours or so. If you're not a sidequest sort of guy then I wouldn't bother.
Limbo is brilliant - so brilliant, but once again it's short. Limbo has puzzle aspects to it, which may appeal to you from your liking to Zelda.
Minecraft is also brilliant, but that's more about creativity and playing with others more than anything. It doesn't sound good on paper, to be honest when I first heard about Minecraft I wasn't impressed. But when I watched someone play it, I bought it immediately! So I'd suggest you watch a gameplay video for this and see what you think.
I had Fable 2 from the series, and it's a solid game. Lasts for a long time, and it's fun to interact with everyone with so many emotions. The battle system is good too, with a solid story. I haven't played the 3rd though.
I haven't played RDR sadly. It's on my list of things to do!

I've played a few of those on PS3 and I'll say Red Dead, Skyrim and Limbo are excellent.
If you want something short and sweet that you can plow through go for Limbo. If you want a lengthy game that you'll play again and again for years to come go for Red Dead or Skyrim.
If you can't decide between RDR or Skyrim just ask yourself what you want more out of a game since they're two different genres. _________________

I mean, for a good recommendation it helps to know what kind of stuff you really like. like, favorite genre, what experience you have with them, what you're looking for, etc. _________________

We need examples of what you enjoy
For example, exploration and lore with a silent lead? Skyrim
Westerns? Likeable anti-hero protagonist? Red Dead
Sucking off strangers at the bus station? Fable _________________ Anal sex is a lot like eating spinach, if you're forced to do it as a kid you wont enjoy it properly as an adult |

I'm gonna say no to Skyrim and Minecraft for pretty much the same reasons they say no to Fable.
If you want an open world RPG get New Vegas. It's pretty much the best.
But Limbo is alright for an indie game, though it falls into a pretty typical indie style, and Red Dead is pretty damn good.
That said, still, I could give a more accurate statement based on what you like otherwise. _________________

I looked through my collection quick and pulled out some games i really enjoyed...
left 4 dead
splinter cell
luigi's mansion
super mario
zelda
pikmin
black and white
goldeneye
counter strike
halflife2
GTA3
I played morrowind back in the day, but I had some issues with how undirected it was. Is oblivion similar? |

Oblivion is better about giving direction, but again, if you want a free roam RPG like that the single best is by far Fallout: New Vegas.
Though yeah, I think for now Red Dead Redemption is most up your alley. _________________

I dunno what's with all the Fable hate.
You can get Fable 2 for like $2 and Fable 3 is about $10. If you play through these games and appreciate what they were trying to do, it's a fun experience, albeit a bit short. I would say both games are worth $12 just to play them if you haven't before.
I also think anything from the Elder Scrolls series is worth playing. Skyrim is the most up to date, but I spent more time in Oblivion and Morrowind than Skyrim (plus my dumbass roommate lost my Skyrim disc lol). |
