And after the opening cut-scene he checks a dropped rifle for an IED. Also when he got the M4 it was perfectly modeled, right down to the hammer and complete trigger assembly in the lower receiver.
This game is giving me the biggest military boner I ever had in my life. |

| MGS are the kind of games that have those little details that aren't really necessary, but makes the experience greater when you find and notice them. |

I love this game so much, sure they're wacky, sure they've got tons of movies...but that's what I like about them. _________________

When you get to the ending make sure you put the controller down and make yourself comfy, you're in for a looooong cut-scene. _________________ Life is not a predetermined path but a branch of many choices that make us who we are. |

MGS4 made Hideo Kojima one of my video game producing role-models. I've vowed to either give my games the same kind of quality, or not develop them at all. _________________

First Bret takes a crack at Silent Hill then Dan starts Max Payne, now Frozen is playing MGS4? Is this the month where GR plays my favorite games??
MattAY, start playing Heavy Rain and De-Ting unlock nega-Scott in Scott Pilgrim the PSN game. _________________

You mean you've never played it? Dude... just.... DUDE! DUUUUUUUDE!!!! You work for a gaming website! You owe it to yourself to take 20 hours out of the week and play it. Once it picks up you won't want to stop, regardless of its flaws. _________________

Eh. Not quite.
I will give Heavy Rain some credit, though. It defies every single logical storytelling aspect and is amazing because of it.
Now MGS4 had amazing controls and stuff, but you never really get a chance to use a lot of them outside of the first two levels. |

People who hate on Heavy Rain are from another planet. The ride getting to the end was awesome, I was literally on the edge of my seat during some of it's most intense scenes.

yeah so anyways, MGS4 is fun eh Frozen? _________________

I've played the game to the point where I got to say "Jason! Jason? JASON! Jason?" 5 million times and put it down. It isnt that I hate it, I just never picked it up again.

Yea, but is it just me or is this game harder than the other ones? I try to sneak around but there is always that one asshole that spots me, and I end up running for 5 minuets looking for a place to hide. |

MGS3 was the hardest IMO due to no radar and no camera control. The enemy AI is obviously much smarter in 4 so you really have to be cautious. _________________

Are you using your Octocamo? I felt like it gave you too much of an edge at times. Full-on firefights are brutal in 4 though.
Wicked, you should've purchased Subsistence. Best re-release ever. Extra movies, theater mode (you could watch every cutscene beginning to end), both original MG for the NES generation....AND CAMERA CONTROL!!!! Which makes it pretty damn easy at points. Seriously every GOTYE should take a lesson on adding crap from that and Substance. Speaking of which...why has 4 not scene a Sub rerelease? What up with that?
Heavy Rain...I really liked it for what it was...I have similar feelings toward it and LA Noire. They're led-by-the-nose story/games. Both are perfect examples of where tablet/phone games should head towards. _________________

I actually found it to be easier due to the more modern mechanics, like controlling camera, etc. (God do I hate MGS3).

See that's why I'm holding off on starting it. I know I'll probably get to a point where I just don't want to play anymore and it'll be a month until I finish it up. Can't stand ADDING to my back catalog... (although Heavy Rain is already there). |

Pfffft L.A. Noir feels like it's four times longer than Heavy Rain but I said my rant
And Bret I was so pissed when Subsistence came out soley because it had camera control. I never buy re-releases since my money can always go towards a new game rather than one I already own. _________________

lol, maybe Kojima noticed people were catching on? Bret if I ever come down you'll have to show off your MGS collection and give me goosebumps. _________________

I'll take you a picture when I get home and save you the airfare. It's sooooo exciting MGS, MGS2:Substance, MGS3: Subsistence and MGS4 (tried to find a Collector Edition in my area...failed). I used to have the VR missions, but a "friend" moved away with it.
So who can't wait for Revengence? _________________
