Yesterday, while cleaning up my media center, I found my copy of Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, which I bought sometime before Christmas last year. I had been pretty excited about this game pre-release, what with it being the first "traditional", albeit shorter than usual,...

After 281 consecutive weeks of DLC, Rock Band finally had its curtain call, today was the last release, and how fitting, its Don McLeans American Pie as the final song.

Anyone have any good memories of the game? Anyone feel like firing up a plastic guitar and shredding for an hour or so? I think now is the time, thats for sure.

I was an early adopter on Rock Band. I remember running to the GameStop next to the Best Buy I worked at and throwing down my credit card for the full kit. We took it to my friends house and started playing Bon Jovi and screaming at the tops of our lungs. Then his mom said we were too loud and I had to pack it all up and leave.

I carted it up to my dorm where I'd play way too much but it was the perfect response to anytime my upstairs neighbors started bouncing a basketball or jumping around or whatever. My bed frame was just tall enough to fit the drums underneath so it was the perfect situation. I got Jenna really into Rock Band too but she only plays the drums haha. The most fun I had with the game was when I started playing the guitar AND singing at the same time. An entirely new level of challenge, but I started to learn the songs so well it was an appropriate step up from "turn everything to expert."

I also loved the way they would let you import songs from one game to the next and just continue building this awesome song library. I never did buy Rock Band 3 though. I always wanted to. I said "well, I'll buy the Rock Band 3 bundle that just has the keyboard" because that's all I needed, but I never ever saw one in the store so I never got it.

I wonder if there are any bars still doing Rock Band night with the entire DLC catalog purchased and available for the next drunk person to ruin.

Its funny, they made that bundle a set at Gamestop, or at least I remember them doing that where I worked. Was how I got the game and the keyboards.

I think a few bars do a Rock Band night around here in NYC, still a fun time if you want to stroll in and have a ball i'm sure. Then again, I know a bar where you can ride a mechanical bull for 2 bucks in Manhattan, so anythings possible.

Good, no more rock band junk clogging the Add-Ons feed. More the dashboard's fault than Rock Band's, but still, annoying

Man... it would of been a perfect opportunity if they added 2D Died by 8 Bit Weapon as a bonus to the american pie DLC.

R.I.P Rock band. You were an awesome addition to the gaming world and in certain bars across the bay area where drunks would play American woman all night. You won't be forgotten.

They use to have Guitar Hero nights, or competitions at the Cici's Pizza down here. Never went don't think they still do.

My mom played Guitar hero all the time on the PS2. Of course we got Rock Band when it came out. I played, but not as much as her, or my brother. I can't remember what happened to it, but we lost all our Rockband stuff however just recently my mom's purchased the stuff again at thrift stores. Guitar here, drum pad there. Have it all now. Every single rock band game except for green day, and metallica. Also every guitar hero game. Most of those only cost a dollar, the Guitars like 2, or 3 each. Drumpads 7 dollars. Pretty good deal.

I only have the 1st rock band, and no DLC because i'm cheap like that. Due to the lack of songs i like, i barely ever play it.

Just finished playing GH3 and GH6 before i turned on my computer.

I like the guitar hero/rock band genre, mainly because the song quality is simply awesome especially with the master tracks, and it properly compensates my sound system. You wouldn't believe all the little sounds in bohemian rhapsody you've never heard before.
My neighbors hate Freak on a Leash on GH:WT. Dat bass.

Great song to end their library with. Never actually bought Rock Band. I was always a GH person. I thought I was cool when I can finish songs on expert, but I'm not as cool as Nick Tan over here
