Yesterday, while cleaning up my media center, I found my copy of Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, which I bought sometime before Christmas last year. I had been pretty excited about this game pre-release, what with it being the first "traditional", albeit shorter than usual,...

So I'm actually meeting with the KSP developers at PAX Prime during their tournament. You guys have probably been playing the game longer than 90% of the internet, so do you have any questions, requests, comments? Honestly, anything you have to say to the devs, I'll repeat and see what they've got in response.

When are you going to PAX Prime, Dan? I might be asking my friends if they have any questions for the devs.

What inspired them to make KSP?
Multiplayer in the future?

Just finished. For the guys who missed out this is what happened:

Put the heavy station module into my SSTO
Got it into orbit
Failed at rendezvous
Failed at everything else
Aborted mission
Ran out of fuel
Made an expert crash landing that left everything intact (bill, jeb, and bob are still alive!)
Tried again
Spent a retarded amount of time trying to dock with my space station
Tried to conduct science but for some reason power wasn't getting to science module (I guess the power reactor needs to be directly attached to the science laboratory...)

It was fun, I'll probably do it again. I'll figure out wtf is wrong with my space station before I stream again.

Pic of what I completed during the stream:

A random glamour shot of me testing out the guns on my fighter SSTO.

Damage caused by the fighter's canon during the test run. I also attached missiles to it, but the missiles completely vaporized the targets.

Also a screenshot of the ship that I use to deliver all of my space station parts into orbit (docked, of course).

I love this game. Too bad it is distracting me from my college studies. Sad

So .23.5 has been out for a bit

The cloud mod and the little LED lights make everything orders of magnitude better. Plus, .5 seems to be nice and stable.

Get mechjeb, make it perform a bunch of maneuvers and watch what it does.
Congrats, you're no longer full pleb.

Then continue to use mechjeb forever, like me.

It's been a while since I played. Do you have Mod recommendations? I need to go in and clear mine out and install some new ones.

Not really, i tend to use fairly stock versions for stability reasons (and things like FAR complicate things), but the ones i'm running at the moment:

http://kerbalspaceport.com/mechjeb/
http://kerbalspaceport.com/aviation-lights-v1-2/
http://kerbalspaceport.com/dock-align-indicator/
http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55905-0-23-5-7-3-EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements-NEW!-VolumetricClouds!
http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55657-0-23-5-Kerbal-Joint-Reinforcement-v2-3-4-14-14

Have been toying with KW Rocketry, too, but it's slightly unstable.

So, the ridiculous densities of all the planets in KSP bothered me so I decided to make my custom real solar system config, complete with simulated orbits (the Jool system is unstable, Vall shouldn't exist as it would crash into another moon eventually). Kerbin is goddamn huge when you push its density to realistic levels. Look at that orbital speed in the second shot.

I don't think I'm going to continue playing with this config, though. The game and most mods are not designed to work with a realistically scaled system. Makes the view from orbit look a lot better, though.

Here is the config if anyone wants to use it.

I'm hoping to see more things like this when it finally goes 64bit and we can use some actual RAM. I have more GDDR5 than KSP can currently use, saying nothing of the DDR3. Hopefully we'll end up seeing the solar system.
